We faced an issue during our check-in. We had booked the room one day in advance and also mentioned all the guest names while making the booking on the website. However, when we reached the hotel and submitted our IDs, we were first allotted the room but later informed that three people could not stay together since our family names were not the same. The hotel staff asked us to book an additional room and pay extra.
This was very disappointing because nowhere on the website was it mentioned that three people could not stay in one room. In fact, the booking clearly showed that an extra mattress would be provided for the third person. If this was a hotel policy, the hotel should have clarified at the time of receiving the booking or contacted us before our arrival.
After discussing with the hotel manager and the MMT customer care team, they finally provided us with an extra room for the third person at the same price, acknowledging that the situation was mishandled. While it was eventually resolved, the check-in experience was frustrating and could have been avoided with clearer communication and policies upfront.
