I had booked a Business Executive Room for my stay, but upon arrival, I was allotted a different category an Executive Room. When I pointed this out at the reception, instead of acknowledging the mistake, the staff tried to justify it by saying that the only difference was in the type of bed. This explanation was dismissive and made me feel as if I wouldn’t notice the difference, which was quite disappointing.
Eventually, another staff member stepped in and “offered” to upgrade me to the correct room, but this was not a favour but it was what I had paid for in the first place. I strongly believe that guests should receive the room they book without having to push for it or feel gaslighted.
My stay was with my mother, who was unwell with a broken hand, and I had chosen this category specifically to ensure her comfort for the night before our early morning train. While the room itself was fine, and the overall experience could have been rated five stars, the way this situation was handled left a negative impression.
I hope the management addresses this, so future guests don’t have to go through the same experience.
