We had the most incredible experience staying at a local homestay during the kutch rann utsav. If you're looking for a genuine village experience without modern amenities, this is the perfect place. The homestay truly embodied the spirit of rural india. Our hosts cooked delicious meals over a traditional wood-fired chula, serving up mouth-watering dishes like khichdi, kadhi, rotlo, ringna nu shaak, mix veg, and chaas. The food was simply outstanding! the homestay itself was a work of art, with beautifully painted walls using local, natural paints. Our hosts took great pride in their handcrafted clothing, which we were encouraged to wear and take photos in. The beds, bed sheets, and chaddars were all lovingly crafted by our hosts, showcasing their impressive textile skills. What made our stay truly special was the warmth and hospitality of our hosts. They lived on the premises, and our kids had an absolute blast playing with their children. It was heartwarming to see the two families bond over games and laughter.
