Punnamada Resort

The resort is really nice especially its location right on the backwaters. Food and services and staff are also very good.

Our overall experience at the resort was enjoyable. The property is vast and boosts of a breathtaking view of the Vembanad Lake, offering enough spots to soak in the Kerala backwaters experience in its rawest form. One can most certainly catch houseboats and “vallom”s adorning the horizon every now and then in the afternoon time. The resort staff were extremely warm and welcoming, immediately making us feel at home. Also the restaurant was another standout, offering a variety of Kerala delicacies. The food was definitely delicious, although the price point was a bit higher. A must mention would be their Karimeen pollichathu. There were however a few minor sticky points here and there which we feel if avoided could have elevated our experience more. Heating was not working in our bathrooms and the staff had to arrange hot water for bathing through other means. Also, linens and sheets were not “whitest” as one would expect in such resorts. Last but the least the route leading up to the resort was narrow and will give a tough time to anyone planning to come in a SUV or any large vehicle. That said, we would definitely recommend the resort for its splendid backwater views and Kerala heritage style experience with modern amenities such as pool, indoor games etc

The setting was stunning, and the staff were exceptionally warm and delightful. Breakfast, included with the booking, was fairly good, featuring the typical selection and assortment. However, the room upkeep requires improvement; the property is old and lacks regular maintenance.

The Poonamada resort is overpriced for what is on offer. The rooms were shabby, basic bathroom, housekeeping of low quality & approach road in bad condition. Only plus was the food in the restaurant.

Location of the resort is truly scenic & beautiful. Food & amenities were good but only issue is the access road to the resort. Roads are too narrow & congested due to which slight inconvenience felt in reaching the resort.

The place is beautiful. Stay was comfortable. Food was awesome and in-house restaurant staff were really helpful. Room needed some attention. Overall enjoyed being in punnamada resort. Due to resort being close to water area, there were too many mostiquotes. Hope the resort team can do something to control it. Thank you.

location was great. Food can be made better. All necessary amenities & services are there. Room structure/placement was a bit strange.

The property is a hidden gem. Located on the shores of punnamada lake, the property transports you to another world full of beautiful flora, foliage and beautiful architecture. The cottages are very painstakingly designed and decorated with simple, elegant pieces. The staff is ever smiling. The restaurant choola serves good food and the ambience of the restaurant is like a postcard image. I wish i had booked it for another couple of days.

Terribly maintained property. Bathrooms are small, smelly, unhygienic with no ventilation. Towels and blankets are not properly cleaned and have dark patches mostly, the whole resort is very badly maintained, plenty of mosquitoes all over mostly breeding in the drains near rooms which are not cleaned and are clogged with plastic bottles etc. With regards to safety and security aspect, at around 8 pm while going outside, i noticed that the security guard himself was drunk. Place is not at all safe for women and family. Food was okayish. Surprisingly fish- both curry and fry were the worst, almost inedible. Biryani was good. Breakfast buffet was very limited and couldn't find anything worth having. Overall, it was my worst stay ever in a hotel/resort and sadly nobody bothers. This resort might have been good once but definitely not worth spending our precious time and money now.

Staff are great but the property needs maintainance and cleanliness, washroom was having cockroaches, lizard and what not, wifi and mobile network doesn't works in the property rooms

I stayed for a night, the property was very good in terms of ambience and staff. Though i felt the bathroom could have been cleaner. The resort provided activities like sikara rides at good rates. Overall it's a good resort to spend leisure time with family.

Un maintained property. Torn and stained linens. Stinking rooms. Bathroom with creepy crawlies. Lizards in the rooms. In the name of heritage they are selling crap Choose another modern nature camp or else better get a tent than staying here.

My stay at punnamada resort was very good. I must mention that the room was very beautiful the surrounding well managed clean and green most important the staff right from reception to housekeeping to the security the interns the staff managing the restaurant all were very courteous friendly attentive and accommodating. I would like to thank bin u, sofi, ganesh, srikanth, alex and others at punnamada for making my short stay very pleasant

The property is situated at best place with one side punamada lake and other side green flora. Very good

Not at all maintained property. Not price worthy. Dirty washrooms and dirty tables and bed. Not recommended at all
