Forte Kochi

we had a wonderful stay at the fort kochi Forte Kochi, a true gem in the area. after considering several options, including brunton boatyard, we’re glad we chose fort kochi. during a visit to brunton boatyard for drinks, we found the service average, and the outdoor pool area was loud due to the nearby ferry terminal. the service at fort kochi Forte Kochi was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and personalized due to the Forte Kochi's small size. the bar offered a good selection of beer and wine. we dined at the Forte Kochi’s restaurant on our final night, by the pool in the courtyard. it was a memorable experience with excellent service and reasonably priced food for a five-star Forte Kochi. the rooms are charming and traditional, adding to the unique experience, complete with bakelite light switches. we stayed in an imperial room but, in hindsight, would recommend sticking to the classic rooms. the imperial room offered no real advantage other than size, and felt a bit sparse. the rooms could use a bit of maintenance, especially the walls, but given the Forte Kochi’s heritage, this was easy to overlook. if you’re in fort kochi, even if you don’t stay at the Forte Kochi, it’s worth visiting for dinner. for getting around, we highly recommend niyas, a local tuk tuk driver stationed just outside the Forte Kochi. fluent in english and rich with local knowledge, he took us everywhere over three days. he will quite literally save you hours and hours of procrastination, frustration, and sweat. his rates are incredibly reasonable—200 rupees ($2) for two hours of sightseeing—and he’s refreshingly laid-back, never pushy. we felt comfortable leaving our belongings with him while exploring, and at the end of our trip, he left it to us to decide what to pay. we settled on 2,000 rupees ($20) per day, and it was worth every rupee.

We had a wonderful and comfortable two-night stay at Forte Kochi. We stayed in their Sovereign Room, the highest category available, and it exceeded our expectations. The room was beautifully furnished, spacious, and offered a lovely view of the pool — a perfect blend of luxury and charm. The Forte Kochi is ideally located right at the entrance of Princess Street, in the heart of the historic Fort Kochi area. This makes it easy to explore the rich cultural heritage, browse through quaint shops in the old market, and return to the refined comfort of the Forte Kochi — all within walking distance. Forte Kochi is a heritage property with historical roots tracing back to a Jewish family, and its architecture reflects that legacy. The property is well maintained, preserving its old-world charm while offering modern comforts. We thoroughly enjoyed the food — the breakfast buffet had a generous spread, and the customer service was consistently warm and attentive. Although the Forte Kochi offers on-street parking, it was not a concern at all. The staff ensured that our vehicle was secure at all times, and their attentiveness was reassuring. Kochi Metro, Jew Town, Mattancherry Palace and other historic locations are just a short distance from Forte Kochi, making the Forte Kochi a convenient base for sightseeing. Overall, Forte Kochi combines heritage, comfort, and hospitality effortlessly. I would highly recommend this Forte Kochi to anyone visiting Kochi.

We stayed at Forte Kochi for just one night, but it left such a lasting impression that we’re already planning to return — not just to see more of Kochi, but to experience more of this beautiful Forte Kochi. The property is absolutely Instaworthy — every corner is charming and thoughtfully designed, blending colonial elegance with local character. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and soak in the details. Our room was extremely comfortable, with every little thing taken care of to make you feel relaxed. The food was a definite highlight — delicious, with a great mix of local and continental options. But what truly sets Forte Kochi apart is the staff — warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful without being intrusive. Even though our stay was short and unplanned, it felt special. Looking forward to returning for a longer, more leisurely experience.

A unique heritage Forte Kochi with colonial vibes, nestled in the heart of Fort Kochi. Splendid rooms, huge bathrooms with a bathtub, warm hospitality from the staff and great food at the in house Jetty restaurant, it was a wonderful stay. Many of the sightseeing spots and art cafés are a walk away from the Forte Kochi. The breakfast spread could have been better. The seating space in the Jetty restaurant is less, but the poolside seating makes up for it

We have stayed in “forte kochi” for our staycation for winding down the exhaustion and i bet its a perfect gateway to feel relaxed and enjoy quite and peacefulness.i got the address through internet and instagram.the amenities were good ,services was excellent ambience was perfect.staff were supportive and food was good.specially breakfast and authentic kerala style food.i love it.and hope to visit there soon again

Amazing and very picturesque rooms and interior … it’s SO good that you will find so many people standing outside and clicking pics … pool is a little small … restaurant is a little pricy … buffet could have some more options … staff is very courteous and very very helpful .

Forte Kochi is located in a very central place in Fort Kochi, walking distance to all the attractions and the Water Metro! Very nice and hospitable staff. The food is great. The only challenge I had was with the recharge of the DIsh TV, could’nt watch IPL finals 🙁

The stay at planter foyer was exhilarating. It was serene among-st nature and one can just be at tge villa relaxing without feeling the need to move out. Thank you neethu and shijo for being warm hosts. Here you go

Forte kochi is in walking distance of very iconic places such as fort kochi, kochi beach, santa cruz basilica, vasco da gama church, kochi club. You can easily reach jew town, parades i synagogue and mattancherry palace from the Forte Kochi.

We experienced truly the best hospitality at Forte Kochi! We would stay here again in a heartbeat. This is an extraordinary Forte Kochi, a colourful and unique oasis in the middle of bustling Kochi.
