Review Of The Chateau Garli

Althou the property was nice to live in but the food was horrible. Ordered rotis and pranthas and wasnt cooked properly. Highly disappointing.

Cheatue Garli is an excellent ,beautiful heritage property in the heritage village Garli ,Kangra Himachal Pradesh. very well located if touring Kangra district or visiting your roots. Staff is very polite and helpful food is also excellent. we had a small family union of 10 ppl & Chef happily made a couple of very typical Himachali dishies we asked for..would reccomend this place for sure & would love to visit again

Had an absolutely amazing weekend at the Chateau. It's in a serene, tranquil and as yet more or less undiscovered village in Himachal. The staff is super helpful. Do the heritage walk with them to discover the village.

Stayed there for a night, the host was gracious enough to upgrade our room. Rooms are spacious with a retro look. Food is good.

The stay was for few minutes. Reason? 1. The thing you don’t get from description is that it is in an isolated small iffy village. 2. Like the pictures? I have news for you - those are color enhanced to increase the appeal. In reality dusty old place with musty smell through and through. If musty smell is your thing, go ahead. You won’t find a single user provided pictures - something to ponder upon… Go ahead spend your heard earned money to experience a dusty place with steep stairs that won’t meet any code in the world. 2.b. If your answer is no - stay away. Find another decent hotel in nearby places like Chintpurni. 3. The place is not worth. 4. Safety: for people traveling with family, imagine this - you are in a secluded village; there are barely any fellow travelers. When we came by the place was empty - we were out numbered by the attendant. Felt extremely uneasy. Surrounding areas outside Pragpur (name of the village) is good. See the pictures. Just avoid this place if you are in love with your money and want to be in a safe clean place.

It is located in off beat place not known to everyone. Location was the usp of the hotel. Very near to many known places but in a village having vintage legacy. Well maintained and very cordial staff. Good food.

We had a great stay at chateau garli for 3 nights/4 days. Room provided to us was on the top floor, with a swimming/lake view which was excellent. Overall room cleanliness was upto mark, staff services in terms of cleaning the room was of no problem at all. Room layout was very appealing with colorful window glasses and wooden almirah and wooden flooring. Toilets were clean with a non-interrupting hot/cold water supply. Hotel food - breakfast/dinner was excellent and had an authentic north indian home style taste. Overall i will give this hotel 4. 5/5 rating, 0. 5 deducted as there were slippery passages due to the monsoon coming outside our floor, which should be cleaned on a regular basis.

I along with my mother stayed in the property. It was going back to my mother’s good olden days in garli. She has lived here with her mother and siblings and completed her class x from local school here. She has also visited this property at that time to fetch water from well in the property. She was so happy to be back here and was with joy when she saw a a class x photograph of the owner (sukarma) who happened to be her classmate. I will try to get her contact no to reunite my mother with her. We had excellent stay with excellent hospitality in the property with courteous staff. Too expensive. I was the only one staying in the property. Staff was excellent & were trying to accommodate my needs. None of the hotel facilities were operative. Like the pool had little water & was dirty. Was looking like a pond.

It was wonderful to stay there. It keeps us many years back feeling. It is very peaceful please. Everyone enjoyed the stay.

Much has been said and heard about the chateau, garli but nothing comes close to the actual experience. Everything from the wood panel-led doorways to the wide verandas to the stained glass windows, brings with it a charm from simpler times. This is a place that carries with it a legacy of ages and stories passed down through generations. No questions on the food and ambience of the place, the staff is properly courteous & loves to help you in anyway they can.
