Decent Budget Stay with a Few Caveats
I recently stayed at Hotel Shanti Inn Residency, and here’s a balanced take on my experience:
✅ Pros:
Budget-Friendly & Cosy Rooms: For the price paid, the rooms were clean, cosy, and comfortable. Truly value for money.
Excellent Service: The service staff deserves a big thumbs up! Very attentive — helped with luggage, brought plates on request, and made sure everything was smooth throughout the stay.
Owner is Responsive: Though there are a few issues, the owner did acknowledge them and promised to address them soon.
❌ Cons:
Narrow Approach Roads: The hotel is located in a tightly packed area, which may be inconvenient for some, especially if you're driving.
Parking Woes: There’s no dedicated free parking. They arranged parking at another site but charged ₹200/day for it — which wasn't mentioned in advance.
Extra Driver Charges: Additional charges for driver accommodation were added unexpectedly, which was disappointing. In many hotels, this is usually free.
No AC Power Backup: When the power goes out, the AC stops working. The owner mentioned this will be resolved soon, but as of now, it’s an issue.
No Lift Facility: While this is mentioned in the property rules, climbing up to the first or second floor might be tough for elderly guests — though the staff does help with carrying luggage.
ℹ️ Final Thoughts:
If you're okay with a narrow street location and minor extra charges, this hotel is a great budget option with warm service and cosy rooms.
