Review of Check-In at Hotel Metro Regency, Lucknow: My check-in experience at Hotel Metro Regency was deeply disappointing. Upon arrival, there was no one to greet or assist with check-in. I had to wait for half an hour before a staff member showed up. After a long night of travel, I was exhausted and sleepy, and to make matters worse, I wasn't even offered a glass of water or tea during the extended waiting time, which ended up being about an hour and a half. It would have been a simple gesture to offer water or tea, even if I had to pay for it, but no such courtesy was extended. Once the staff member finally arrived, he seemed more interested in knocking on guests' doors, urging them to have breakfast, rather than focusing on my check-in. After an unnecessarily long process, he asked for my booking details, and I explained that I had reserved the room for 24 hours. Despite this, the staff's attitude was unprofessional and indifferent, unlike other hotels I've stayed in where the service was far better for even less cost. To make matters worse, I was told that the housekeeping staff hadn't arrived yet, so I had to wait longer for my room to be prepared. During this time, another guest emerged from his room, visibly upset, complaining that his room hadn't been cleaned. The staff member called the manager only after the guest repeatedly shouted at him, finally arranging a new room for the guest. Shockingly, they then assigned me the used room the previous guest had stayed in. The room was filthy—there was no bedsheet on the bed, the TV was non-functional and appeared unused for a while, and the overall condition was unacceptable. Despite their claim of offering complimentary breakfast, I wasn’t even asked if I would like any. Overall, this was an incredibly frustrating and unpleasant experience. I do not recommend staying at Hotel Metro Regency to anyone. The lack of professionalism and basic hospitality is simply unacceptable.
