Review Of Star Gaze Cottage Hanley

The cottages are okayish but the host bhaiya ji is very warm and sweet. Hanle in itself is a very remote location and to get things to make place liveable is challenging, still the hosts try their best. We constantly were asking for chai, warm water, maggi etc and he was caring enough to provide us with everything.Didn’t even charge us for these things. Recommended 👍🏻

The only good thing about this property is the homely food, however the “cottage” is not at all cozy for cold hanle nights and not comfortable as well.

Ugh, the stay was awful. We're all about stargazing, so we went to Hanle for the dark skies. We thought they'd at least turn off the lights after 11 PM so we could get some awesome pictures. But nope, they fired up the diesel generator after lights out, around 11 PM, and had a party with drinking and dancing around a bonfire until 2 AM. All the while, they had all their halogen lights on and blasting music over speakers. It totally ruined our trip. Plus, we found out that stuff like that makes it hard for the observatory to see the sky because of light pollution.

Location food and property is very good. Staff owner is also very good.

The staff was attentive and eager to help. The food was good. Water, electricity and communication was difficult, but due to the remoteness of the place. However the cottage itself is not insulated well enough and the blankets they provide are not good enough. Okay for the price but spend a little more and get better accommodation.

Place is away from Hanle observatory Rooms are dirty and lacking maintenance Service is good though..staffs trying their best to provide service

Location was excellent. very beautiful. food quality was not upto the mark, but cook was very humble and always ready to help. they are very polite. Rooms are small but clean.

The place is full of flies and mosquitoes. The food variety was very disappointing at the buffet. Hygiene and cleanliness compromised

Worst experience. There was no hot water available no star gazing equipment. The service and the food was terrible. Total waste of money. Bad experience of hanley. Kindly never book this stay

Superb location right next to the hanle river. Food was average, pretty much no breakfast and had to convince to cook “something “. The staff is nice and polite and did a fair job in the remote area it is. No hot water in room, only hot water supply is from the help kitchen, which contains veggies etc.

The service is extremely great. Had a wonderful stay at the property. Food feels like home and tea snacks are available as needed

It was very bad experience to stay in these cottages, actually owner sits in leh and they don't care about condition of rooms, bed sheets, food quality, basic amenities.

The property is at the start of the hanle village. Decent rooms with good service. You get hot water for a specific time period.

Very basic accommodation in a container with basic amenities. A small place but prices like a 3 star. The meals was good though

This and adjoining properties are available for half the price. Absolutely not worth the pricing. Please find out properties available with the locals instead of booking here. The care taker worked hard to provide the facility, but there weren't enough facilities. It's a pota cabin. There is no electricity except from 7-11pm and obviously no wifi. That's true for most properties in the area.
