Review Of IRCTC Mahakumbh Gram - Tent City

Property location was very nice but the tent was average,food was not good,amenities and services were average,overall stay was peaceful and good

As a passionate Indian, I preferred to book in IRCTC though many private Tents were available.Staff members were friendly and guided us properly with positivity prior to our departure as most of the media coverage gave negative publicity with regard to environment and crowd ,inflicting fear in our minds,as most of us are senior citizens.(6 out of 9 family members) Desk staff members guided us properly to reach your destination at Tent City. At first sight the atmosphere was good and Tents looked neat and attractive. The Tent Rooms looked elegant offering requited facility within the limited space.Restaurant was spacious and Food items were delicious. The desk staff, who are the ambassadors of any organisation,were cordial, efficient and coped well in managing the pouring guests. We had nice holy dip at Triveni Sangam and had good stay at IRCTC which made our holy trip a memorable one.

Tent is situated at the end of sector 25, around 4 kms from triveni sangam. Irctc does not provide any means of commutation for triveni sangam. Travel desk charges very high for local site visits and guide services. Housekeeping services are not upto the mark. Guests have to remind more than once about essential housekeeping needs. Food is good but services are slow.

I was unable to reach the tent city as all roads to kumbh had been blocked 25 kms before. I tried to reach it using the available motorcycle taxi but even that was not possible as there were jams everywhere nd waiting getting longer nd longer. Finally abandoned the idea nd went stayed in another hotel paying Rs6000 more . Why do they sell this property for 18900 per room night if you cannot reach it this is fraud by irctc if you sell the rooms then ensure the guest can reach or refund my bloody money

‘terrible’…the tent was very basic, not super deluxe and absolutely not worth the charges…no heating as said…but the most terrible experience was the service by reception incharge and staff…they behaved as if they were doing us a favour by even talking to us… rest of the mahakumbh experience was great except for the irctc tent city!. food was very simple but ok…nice hot rotis…chai wala was good 😊. we spent only 3hrs resting in the afternoon in tent… out of the 2 night stay we paid for. checked out the second morning..did not even spend a night in the tent..

Not worth for amount you have charged. Travel desk was not helpful at all. Reception were sharing numbers with private taxis which were charging a lot we did not have choice but to hire them. Food was also average. I dont want to share. You should talk to them and ask for refund of some amount.

The tent city was too far and people at front desk were not able to explain from where we have to come. We came prayagraj by air and cab dropped us at the boat club near kidgunj. We called the tent city to understand from where we have to come but person on the call did not know where we were and where is the tent city. I can understand that many people gathered and transportation was banned by the authorities but at-least they should guide us to where we have to come. We went there by asking local public. Food was good. Person handling cafeteria was nice. He arranged breakfast before time as we have to leave early for the airport.

Room service was not upto the mark. Food was average. No hot water available. Blankets were inadequate.
