Regal - Woodside Retreat

Towels and bedsheets were unwashed. Bedsheets were smelly. Room was completely uncleaned.

Pros - Hotel is located in a nice, open compound and there's plenty of greenery around - Food was very nice - Price was great Cons - Rooms weren't terrible but the ambiance is terrible thanks to the CFLs. Couldn't see anything at all in the bathroom. The light in the main room wasn't bright enough to allow me to read either. This can be fixed so easily. - The hotel can be a bit hard to find although it is within walking distance of the market. Wouldn't recommend walking, especially after dark.

Located at about 1 km from the main market, Hotel Regal provides a calm and serene habitat, ideal for couples and honeymooners who need to shy away from the crowds. The hotel boasts of a vast area that includes a swimming pool, decently maintained lawns, a play area for kids, and 5 different classes of accommodation ranging from standard Classic Crystal and Exotic pool-facing rooms to larger Elite and Regency cottages. The staff is cordial, prompt, and helpful. The hotel serves only pure vegetarian food. It provides buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, and limited tea/coffee. Additional services include on call taxi and sightseeing. Although at 15 minutes distance, taking a walk might not be feasible at late hours with sparse street lighting. So, if you are the kind who likes to be at the center of all activity and hustle-bustle, Hotel Regal might seem to be a bit lax and secluded. While for those who wish to be in the privacy of nature, Hotel Regal serves as the perfect host.

The Hotel is very old and known by its name but the present status of Hotel was not expected as there is improper maintenance in and outside the rooms. Though the staff is good but of what use? Simply standing below the staircase. Improper bathroom toiletries. One piece of small soap to be used for Bath as well as toilet. No Hand napkin is given, only two towels. No shampoo or other toiletry items. Considering the charges we didn't took all this items with us in luggage. Tables and chairs kept around swimming pool were of the so shabby condition that you will not feel like sitting. Really we were not that happy after spending so much. Breakfast and the food was of variety every day but not to a great extent. I was not that satisfied. The approach road from main road to the Hotel there is no light at all and it is extremely difficult during night to walk without carrying a torch. The condition of the road is also very poor and there are no cultural activities happening.

Hotel is far away from city and other hotels.

A highly overpriced hotel, after paying more than 5000 for 1 night, I get an average room with the view of a dump yard from my window. The bed sheets and pillow covers stained and no clean towels in wash room. There is no 24 hr hot water supply, it's just for 2 hrs in the morning. The food served in the hotel is alo pyaaz, baigan bharta and torai, this is not what is expect to eat when on holiday. The check- out time is 8 am and the reception will call u at 7 to remind that u have to leave by 8. This hotel is not at all recommended and should not be considered even as the last option.

HotelRegal is really good for nature lovers. They are serving Good gujarati Food. The only problem is with the hot water, it is only available frm 7:30 to 9.

The food at the hotel was good.

The rooms were not so good. I would not recommend to any of the people. The bathroom are smelling like anything.

Hotel Regal is very famous and renowned name, but the hotel was old and at distance of 1.2 km from Main Market. The services were good but the power load shedding was a problem. The lighting around hotel was poor as we can not walk around hotel at night. Hotel management needs to improve on lighting and power conditions, and partly housekeeping service.

Stay was nice but the food was not as good as expected.
The thing I liked about the room was the bed which was perfect for a couple.

Except for the food, everything else was too notch. The food was tasteless. I had complimentary breakfast, but, if that is the taste, I rather not have it.

This Woodside hotel has become quite famous in Tirupati. Where We regularly dine only at this restaurant on visiting this holy place. We get all cuisine foods. While, Meals are Tasty. We visit once or twice every year and many pilgrims prefer this hotel for its quality.

Our room was royal suite which was quite spacious clean and with enough lighting Amount of 2550 that we paid with breakfast and one meal included in the price was value for money. However the prepaid menu was very limited and restricted to some punjabi items. I think the hotel can improve on this. Room service was quick and satisfactory. Over all very good experience for our two nights stay.

Very close to Mahabaleshwar town. Huge property. Well spread out. Lots of space and greenery within the compound and nearby. Food is good, nothing special. But you will like huge open space all around.

The rooms were not well maintained, No kettles were given for hot water, poor restaurant and kitchen, WiFi was only provided for one device and it was not working as well. Location is good but little far from market.

A few small improvements needed. Sprinkler holder and sink in washroom need repairs. The service was good and people were extremely polite. A vehicle was arranged as soon as we arrived for sight seeing.

The hotel is too far from market. Better to book hotel near market. And this the Hotel Regal is too inside it is like we are staying in jungle. Lights use to go at night... Bees and mosquitoes everywhere in room. And they do not have personal restaurant. So keep in mind which they gave food we have to eat that only. Please do not prefer this hotel...
