Terrible Stay

People switch on lights whenever they want and close and open doors whenever they want and also the crowd is cheap meaning they don’t respect people boundaries and don’t behave like they are in social setting

Hi Tejaswini, We apologise for the inconvenience you had to face at our hostel. Yes, some people do create problems for others which, if informed on time, we make sure we fix. You must have noticed we have put up rules in all dorms mentioning about silent hours and switching lights on and off. Unfortunately, in this case, you did not inform any of the team members about the issue you were facing and chose to check out and put this review instead. We would have appreciated if you spoke with the management so we could have helped you promptly and ensured your experience was better. Hoping the next time would be better! Cheers! :)

Thank you for your feedback! We're really glad to know you found the beds comfortable. Regarding the bathrooms — we completely understand where you're coming from. Our property is an older construction, and while we’ve been making gradual improvements (including recent upgrades to the tiles and fixtures), some parts might still give the impression of being worn out, even when they're clean. That said, we take cleanliness very seriously. Our washrooms are cleaned thoroughly three times a day. However, since the cleaning schedule is fixed, there might be times when the next guest walks in after someone who hasn't used the space responsibly, which can create a false sense of it being unclean. We constantly try to remind guests to be mindful and leave the space clean for others, but it’s a shared space and occasionally things slip through. We truly appreciate you pointing this out — it helps us improve further. And we hope you’ll notice a marked difference the next time you visit.

I booked the place for my friend and he was not allowed to stay/enter. Owner asked me to cancel the booking but make my trip did not let me cancel and i did not get the refund too

Hi, The person who came was an elder person over 50. We are a backpacker's hostel and we don't encourage booking it for staff and labourer's just because the prices stay low for hostel. Also we could have considered giving the bed but we only had an upper bed available which is risky for a person of that age. As for the refund, we never received any email for MMT else we would have happily cancelled with full refund. You can still contact the support and we would be processing it.

For emergency stay also temporary like 2-3 days is fine but the bathroom was not good also they lock the kitchen after 10. Since i stay there for emergency purpose i'm ok with the stay

I've checked in for 8 people mixed dorm the beds were okay and rooms are also fine but the washrooms for 8 people is not expected they were stinking like anything and no hot water. Very bad experience other than everything is pretty good.

The place needs to be more accomodative of critical needs of travellers. Things change last minute especially with climate and health and instead of counting minutes when information was passed or what are terms of stay, they need to be more humane and flexible

I had an excellent stay at this hostel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The common areas were well-maintained, creating a great atmosphere to meet fellow travelers. They also organize various events that you can participate in, which makes the stay even more enjoyable. One of the highlights of my stay was spending time with the two pet dogs, butter and fly. They were such friendly and delightful companions, adding a warm and homely touch to the experience. The location was convenient, close to key attractions and public transport. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a pleasant and budget-friendly stay!

soloThe property is conveniently located at centre of indranagar easy to access from metro station (5 min auto ride. The room is well maintained and staff are friendly- idea for a short stay in the city. The number of bathrooms are limited considering the number of beds - so it would be smart to get up early if u don’t want to wait long. Otherwise it’s a perfect and quite reasonably priced

soloHouse of stories is a cute hostel in a beautifully done bungalow. The staff was very good, special shout out to surabhi at the front desk. The location is really good. The price is also really good. My only issue was the cleanliness. It wasn't too bad but it could definitely be better. They can certainly benefit from better cleaning staff. I stayed in the female dorm and unfortunately the girls weren't cleaning the bathroom, and they were leaving a lot of hair all over the room. The staff also insisted on cleaning the room while the girls were still asleep in the morning. Storage was provided by way of a big cupboard in the room but it was dusty fr inside so i personally didn't feel like using it. There should also be a rule informing guests to maintain tidiness in the room. I know it is beyond the control of the hostel staff but girls were leaving their stuff all over and creating a mess in the room. Due to bags all over the floor, the staff couldn't clean properly since they cannot touch people's belongings. All in all it's a good and safe place. They also have 3 lovely dogs which definitely makes it a plus for me.
