Resortikesh

At the outset of this review I must warn you that it is going to be a long read but a must read if you don't want to destroy your plans of a good weekend/holiday. We booked this place Resortikesh for 2 nights and were hoping for a decent weekend. However, it turned out to be a complete nightmare, especially when you are a young couple with a 1 year old child. This place is situated on Neelkanth Road amidst a hotspot where there are resorts all around but frankly these are just camping sites and Resort is a misnomer. We reached the place and found that the whole area has 0 network reception for Airtel so that is your first warning. After reaching a parking ground which is Rs. 200 per night (the property has no parking) we called the manager from the parking guy's phone. He assured us that someone is coming to assist us with the luggage but we had to call thrice and wait for 30 min before someone came. Then we approached the property which has no proper entrance and we were made to walk over a canal/drain holding a one year old child (this is same for all the properties, no proper entrance). We reached the property and who seemed like a nice guy initially greeted us and sent us to our Premium AC Cottage which mind you had no AC running (Lol). Upon asking him why is the AC not working, he said 'Light nahi hai' I asked you have a Generator right, he said yes but we can only provide a Fan on it. So basically you are at the mercy of the electricity dept if your room will be a Premium AC Room or a Normal dingy smelly damped walls room with just a fan. Next came the other shocker, we visited the pool which mind you is not a pool, its just a tiled pit filled sith water with no cleaning mechanism. On the pool side sitting on the table were 6 grown up males sitting in their shorts having Drinks openly and shouting and howling (So much for family environment aye!) Eventually the electricity came 2 hours later and to our surprise AC was still not working so this nice guy Manish comes to our rescue and works for 15-20 min to finally run our AC. Thanks to Manish we could sleep peacefully atleast for a night. Their food had so limited options that we were told either to have the buffet (2 dishes) or we can have maggi. We settled on a Maggi (On our supposedly exciting weekend, wow!). Next morning we went for the riverside viewing which is the only good part about this place, when we came back and asked for a towel, we were told there were None available. After 2 hours at around 11:30 A.M again the electricity went off, and suddenly even the Fan stopped working.I asked the manager, he said even the inverters are down, I said but you assured me of a Fan backup if not an AC. He says the electricity dept is working on the maintenance and we cant switch the generator on. My god we were sitting for 3 hours without even a fan, my child kept on crying like hell. Another family our neigbours had drove all the way from Ghaziabad for this suffering. In his words and I quote him 'Its like we are in a jail and we can't even run away'. Well we chose to runaway instead and checked out as there was no certainity whether or when the Electricity would come back. The drive back was also super frustrating as the road is very very narrow, and traffic is always bumper to bumper on busy weekends. It was by far the worst stay of my life (And I have had many). Therefore, spare yourself the suffering and avoid this place. You are much better at home. Also, after coming and requesting for atleast a partial refund these guys even denied me that (predictably so).
