Bison Manor Country Retreat

The biggest plus points are the absolute solitude, the ambience, the fantastic service and SUPERB food by the staff and special thanks to Mr Narayan- the manager. It was a different experience compared to the usual "resort", that one is accustomed to, because it is a house that has been converted to a home stay. The house itself is amazing and has a "historic feel", and one could imagine life lived there a few decades ago. In terms of improvements my request is to keep some sort of insect repellent at all parts of the house, since the utter solitude was frequently disturbed by the unmusical hum of mosquitoes- especially in the hall. The book collection can be enhanced with a few "comics (TinTin/Asterix/ Archies/Phantom/ Calvin and Hobbes)" and also "light reading" ( Finishing a book takes a few hours). One more improvement could be to ensure that the plumbing can be improved- viz we had to wait for some time, unnecessarily and sadly wasting water ( much against ourselves) to have the water turn "hot" and taps and health faucet can be improved. Else everything was as perfect as could be and it is fantastic value for money and would return . . Definitely recommend it for my friends.

Room was large with a big sit out. Absolutely neat and clean with fresh bedsheets and excellent towels. Bathroom size very large and brand new looking fittings. Hot water aplenty. Food taste, Quantity excellent and made available in time. Plates, cutlery, crockery all new. Water was clean and refreshing. Common areas quite large and hence plenty of space to sit around and relax. Outside garden area and plantation areas were well maintained. Calm and peaceful place. Only a few negatives that they need to improve- approach road- they should make it a tar road though it is just a 1. 5 km of mud/stone road. Wi fi was not there. On the positive, set in middle of a plantation, it gives a beautiful serene ambience. Others have mentioned bad water quality. But when we stayed there, even the bathroom water tasted sweet. May be they have rectified the problem or the borewell is now supplying good water due to bountiful rains.

It was a wonderful stay! Hospitality provided by the Manager M. Parashuram and the entire staff was really nice. Food quality was excellent!.. There were no separate charges for Dinner and Breakfast... It is a beautiful location in the middle of coffee plantations... Pool table, Table tennis, Carrom board to pass your free time. Only cons were: last 1 km patch of the road and smell of the water in the bathroom. But overall it was a really enjoyable experience.

The location is amazing, admist of coffee estate and far to the main city of Coorg, you and enjoy and relax with yummy food provided by the Bison Manor Country Retreat. The mansion is an old house recreated with no feeling of a commercial Bison Manor Country Retreat. The facilities can be improved.

Very Spacious Rooms. Good food. Excellent location. Our kids loved the table tennis table. This is very close to Nagarhole wildlife sanctuary. This is in the middle of a Blissful coffee estate. We had Great Coffee. Total Value for Money.

Nice location in the middle of coffee estate. Lot of indoor and outdoor door activities. Nice bonfire in the night. Morning walk with in coffee will be a awesome experience. Lot of birds chirping. Food is good I would recommend this Homestay.

Good place to relax, good food, excellent service, staff is very helpful, they arranged for the campfire, irpu falls close by best place if you want to relax close to the nature must visit if you are looking for a break, thanks & regards Amit Behl

Nice place inside a coffee estate to relax with kids. Food is okay. Location and ambience is super. Kids will have a good time as there are some indoor and outdoor games. Cycling around the estate is a nice way to workout. Good place for birding.

Overall good stay. Must carry a torch as there are power cuts. Should prebook the safari tickets.

Good but the road is worst and the water is brown color with some smell. Overall it was a pleasant trip. Food was good and the location was almost in a forest. It's little difficult to get this place as it is far away from the main road and very far from the Coorg
