NUTSHELL Airport Retreat by the Sea

Good homely people with homely food. Fantastic sea view right outside the gate. Adequate parking. Will stay there again for my next trip to Trivandrum

actually this property named "Nutshell Airport Retreat by The Sea" doesn't exist at all. this is only a basic home stay. they wrote that they have restaurant that is false . No restaurant available. road??( street)to property is so narrow and dangerous that driver of car and auto both denied to go there and agree to go there only after extra payment. it's all claim and photo are fake. even no board of name on property. for food you have to order on zomato. behavior very rude and all blame game. nobody should rely on information provided and make my trip should verify these false claims and photos

we found this property through make my trip app. very pleasant, beautiful place..with good comfort n facilities.. The cherry on the cake part is...property is filled with antique wodden pieces... and it feels like a poem written by someone who has arranged it..

Location is excellent, nearest to the sea. Food was also very good. Services were also very good. But regarding amenities, especially AC, it was not working properly.

Staff was not good, bed was uncomfortable, water heater was not working. Cleanness issue. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

I've stayed here for 2 days with my family. We enjoyed our time here. The food was great. The host is very helpful and kind.

It is an average property. Not value for money. Maintenance poor. The wash basins were broken which looked as if there was hair inside. The geyser inside was not working so was the exhaust fan. Breakfast below average. Rainwater comes inside. Though it is very near to airport the road to reach the property is very narrow on the edge of see. Overall wasn't a good experience

Location was absolutely fantastic. Beach, city centre, airport, mall are convenient, yet it is quiet. The property is facing the beach. We took a stroll at night on the sea beach, then casually walked to the airport to pick up mango slice from a grocery shop in front of the t1 gate that too at 10pm in night. Earlier in evening we just took a rickshaw from round the corner to padmanabhan swamy temple that was a short ride. There is also a bus but i didn't explore it. The home stay is very well maintained with good collection of antique furniture. There are sitting benches outside placed between plants. I enjoyed my tea here. One literally feels at home. Arun welcomed us and asked what we needed. He assured us he will provide us airport drop even at night. Appam and stew one of our favorite kerala breakfast was served hot in the dining area. We enjoyed chatting with other guests at breakfast and exchanging our trip details. There was a serbian, a polish girl and another austrian couple who joined us. Earlier evening there was a norwegian couple enjoying their wine sitting in the patio watching the sea. We spoke about our travel experiences, they were amused when i asked them if they were from oslo and told them about my travel to norway. And how i struggled with norwegian phonetics like i do with malyalam. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many european guests. They have a fully equipped kitchen that guests can use for any small needs. We made our own tea to drink whenever we liked. The ac worked well, bathroom has electric water heater. Bed was large enough to accommodate couple and child, room was spacious and full of antique furniture like wardrobe. On my request they arranged a full day tour cab. I visited jatayu rock, experienced elephant ride like a mahut. They held on to my luggage as my flight was late after checking out. It was ones my most memorable stays.

I highly recommend this place for travelers seeking a clean, welcoming, and pleasant experience. My time there was memorable, thanks to the excellent service and inviting ambiance. I look forward to returning in the future.

Good place to stay with beach view and cooperative staff and care taker. Both venugopal sir and nisha madam was very helpful. Only thing is acces to place is narrow. Big car little difficult to man-over in narrow street.

The host was extremely nice and friendly. There is a lot of thought put behind the interiors of the loving area. Antique artefacts give it a totally amazing look and can transport you in a different era. My Room was well maintained, clean and sea facing. The food was the cherry on the top made me feel like “home away from home.”

Location is away from city, property is good but beach is not good, owner behaviour is very good very supportive

There's a beach on the doorstep. Could hear waves. Not loud though. Kind hostess. Great support staff. More of a homestay. Great room. The place is teeming with cultural artefacts. Beautiful. 5 minutes walk to airport. Swiggy accessible. Beach continues to shanmugam. Recommended. Had dinner. And lift to airport. Host insisted lift considering dogs and terrain. There for one night to catch an early morning flight. Didn't disappoint.

Friendly staff, nice breakfast. Picked up from the airport. The house has a lot of wooden and metal items. It would be better appealing to people if those things are maintained well. The house needs airing. There is a stuffy smell because all windows are closed. Blanket should be given with a sheet under it.

Location super, owner and host awesom. The behaviour makes her special. Wish her all the best.

There is no good road and road lights and it is far away from the city we can't get good hygienic food.

The accommodation is okay, the owners live on the property and have converted few rooms for business. We opted for beach facing on the first floor. There is effect of global warming on the last mile to this place as well access to the beach, not the best. The property is old, bit of kerala cultural view. A number of things could be better - cleanliness, experience and timely serving of breakfast there are better options like uday suites for this price

We only stayed at nutshell for two nights and one day, but the hospitality of the homeowners was endearing. Their cook made us an amazing potato stew breakfast in the morning as well. Really beautiful home, facing the sea. It was really calming to watch the not so calm sea right in front! would recommend this sweet home to anyone staying in trivandrum. Really close to the airport as well. It was late in the night but nisha arranged an airport pickup for my family in the last moment )
