The property itself was really beautiful, peaceful, and fantastic. I genuinely liked the overall ambience and the stay experience. However, the staff support and customer service could be improved significantly. During check-in, there was no proper guidance regarding where our assigned block/room was located. We had to figure it out ourselves, which was quite inconvenient, especially after arriving and expecting some basic assistance from the reception team. We also faced an issue with the room PIN code, as the PIN was not popping up properly. This created unnecessary confusion and made the check-in process more frustrating. What disappointed me the most was the way the receptionist interacted with us. Her behaviour and communication felt quite strange and uncomfortable, almost as if she was making us feel like the room had been given to us for free. As a paying guest, I felt this was unnecessary and unprofessional. A friendly and welcoming attitude from the reception team would have made a big difference to the overall experience. Overall, the property is excellent and has a lot of potential, but the staff needs to be more supportive, welcoming, and professional. With better communication and guest assistance, the experience could be much better.

Good Stay, but Room for Improvement

I had a pleasant stay at The Hosteller Bam Coorg, especially because the rooms, beds, and overall facilities were clean and well maintained. The food was also good. I tried the thali, which is slightly on the expensive side for what you get, but considering the remote location, the pricing is understandable. Since I stayed for multiple days, there are a few areas that could be improved. The washrooms were not cleaned between days, even after I requested the staff at least three times. This was quite disappointing, especially considering the price of the stay. A few basic amenities would also make the experience much better, particularly during the monsoon season: door mats, a cloth-drying stand, and a wiper in the bathroom. Since guests frequently return from outings in the rain, these would be quite useful. The balconies could also benefit from proper outdoor seating. Overall, it is a comfortable place with clean rooms and good food, but better housekeeping and a few basic amenities would make the stay much more convenient.

It is a good property easily accessible via road. Comfortable stay and a decent common room. Food is also fine though was not as good as we experienced last time in Vagamon Hosteller. May be because of rush. Service is a little slow as water was not placed near dormitory regularly. Swimming is good but it has to be bigger considering the capacity of this property. Overall it was decent.
