Unexpected check in experience

soloContacted property few mins earlier than check in time to proactively inform about the check in timings but was shocked to hear that the hotel will not entertain stay as the pricing booked thru mm t didn’t seem appropriate to the hotel staff. Staff asked to cancel the booking instead. Was shocked to hear the ask, property was booked weeks in advance and hotel had enough time to correspond even if they didn’t want to hon-our the booking. It was very unprofessional of the staff to behave like this to deny booking when we had traveled 100s of kms. The joy of trip went away in fighting around with staff, contacting mm t customer care to sort this out. It took couple of hours of discussions before hotel agreed to proceed with the booking. Other amenities were anyways basic and as per expectations but the check in experience was not expected and waste of time. Hotel needs to work on making the experience more guest friendly.
