I had originally planned just a quick stopover after my Laka glacier trek , a change of plans brought me to Mitra Hostel and honestly, what a blessing in disguise! From the moment I stepped in, the vibe hit differently. The whole building is so colorful, artsy, and trippy, it instantly lifts your mood.
The reception was warm and welcoming, and I was personally greeted by the manager, Mr. Vijaya, which made me feel right at home. After my interview, I treated myself to a coffee at their Terrace Café—a cozy, relaxing spot with amazing ambiance.
What makes Mitra Hostel even more special is its community vibe—there’s a clapbox, guitar, carrom boards, and even a dedicated indoor games area. It’s the kind of place where you can chill, jam, or just meet like-minded travelers over coffee.
I truly wish I could’ve stayed longer, but college called me back. Still, I’m already looking forward to returning here on my next trip. If you’re looking for a fun, vibrant, and welcoming hostel experience, Mitra Hostel should be at the top of your list.
