Denissons Beach Resort (Formerly Gamyam Retreat)

The resort doesn’t have a bar. It has private beach but beach entry is restricted by 7 pm. The place doesn’t have much liquor to offer. Only one vodka and one beer brand. Food was good but nothing much to explore. Many rules and restrictions.

Great alternative to Goa. Nearer, less crowded, calmer and cleaner.

The resort is highly recommended for people looking for clean pristine beaches with extremely hospitable and courteous staff. The restaurant offers good menu with the chef too happy to share his recipes. Overall VERY SATISFIED WITH OUR STAY IN DENISSON'S.

We had a wonderful time at Dennisons Beach Resort. The location is fantastic with its own private beach, making it easy to enjoy the sea breeze and beautiful sunsets. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff were warm and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. The food was fresh and delicious. The overall vibe of the resort is peaceful and perfect for a relaxing getaway. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind by the coast! I’d like to mention good service provided by their staff - Swathi, Tejaswini, Laxman, Krishna, Gautam and Suchita. A very special shout out to Chiranjit and Asha who were extremely helpful during all our meals and took great care of my family.

The property is absolutely beautiful and surrounded by nature, we even spotted a couple of peacocks during our stay. The spa experience was fantastic and truly relaxing. However, the resort felt a bit too quiet, with limited activities apart from indoor games and cycling. We were hoping for at least a small Diwali celebration, but there wasn’t any. The property could also use better lighting in the evenings. The food was good but quite expensive.

The resort also offers a relaxing spa treatment The food was delicious with a wide variety of options, especially the seafood which was fresh and flavorful. Overall, this resort is a perfect blend of comfort, nature, and hospitality. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating beach holiday.

The Property is excellent with a Private beach access and lifeguards for your safety. The rooms are spacious, Pool is big and the Spa facilities are amazing with Jacuzzi, hydro jet and Chill pool facilities. The most amazing part of this facility are the staff especially Ganesh, Divya, Bittu,Tejaswini and Senthil. These guys went out of their way to serve us. I have seen the other staff also attend to the guests in similar manner. The service is quick even though the property is large and has buggy and cycle facilities for commute within property. A big shout out to Denissons. Looking forward to another stay at this property.

Denissons is a great place to relax. The hospitality is great and they host you well. The only drawback is limited food options because there is only one restaurant. They have a private beach but no place to sit. And for a 4 star property 20k+ per night is way too overpriced if I have to compare it with many other 5 star resorts from big hotel chains like Taj etc.

We had booked a Superior Premium Room at Gamyam Retreat and, on first impression, the property did look quite premium. The room was spacious, well set up, and even came with a jacuzzi, which was a nice touch. However, our experience took a turn on the very first night. Just before going to bed, we noticed a cockroach near the basin. On closer look, it was dead, but the very fact that there was one in the room especially after paying for a premium category was disappointing. At a place that markets itself as a high end retreat, basic cleanliness and pest control should be non-negotiable. The next morning, while checking out, I mentioned this to the staff who came to escort us to the reception. He said he would inform the manager. At the reception, I raised it again, and the response I received was: “You could have told us yesterday night and we would have sent housekeeping.” While that might be true, it misses the bigger point, guests shouldn’t have to encounter cockroaches in a premium property in the first place. To add to that, the checkout felt rather transactional. I was simply handed the dinner bill, paid it, the car was brought around, and we were asked to leave. No apology, no gesture of concern, no attempt to make up for the experience. Overall, while the property itself has potential and the facilities are well thought out, the service and attention to detail fell short of what one would expect from a retreat that charges a premium. A little more care in cleanliness and guest handling would have gone a long way in making this a memorable stay for the right reasons.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, with all the amenities needed for a pleasant stay. The interiors are tastefully done and perfect for families who want a mix of comfort and luxury. One of the highlights of our stay was the private beach. It is clean, less crowded, and ideal for spending quiet evenings with family while watching the sunset. The presence of so many peacocks around the property added a special charm, making the experience feel close to nature. The staff were extremely courteous and friendly, always ready to help with a smile. Their warm hospitality made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The food was delicious, with good variety and freshly prepared meals that satisfied everyone in the family. Overall, Gamyam Retreat is a wonderful place for anyone looking to relax away from the city’s hustle and enjoy a mix of comfort, nature, and hospitality. Whether it’s families, couples, or groups of friends, this resort has something for everyone. We returned with beautiful memories and would love to visit again. Highly recommended for a peaceful and refreshing getaway in Kumta.

Superb place to relax with family. Location is very good. The room are very clean and maintained very well. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious, offering a wide variety of options to suit all tastes. The resort has a private beach which is very clean. They have a very large common swimming pool which is very well maintained. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to others

Food was amazing , luxury property ! Private access to beach is cherry on the top ! We had a wonderful time and swiming pool is clean ! Room and bathroom are super clean and service is top notch

Ambience is truly excellent, staff are very good, wide range of breakfast spread, all fine but restaurant is not attached with bar.
