We booked two rooms for 2 nights at this homestay and had reasons not to feel comfortable with our stay. First of all, when we arrived, we were shown two rooms which were two basements below the main building, to which we had to carry our baggages in the steep, narrow staircase down. The rooms were very small, just enough to hold a double cot and nothing more. We would have had to keep our bags outside in the common hall. The toilets were even smaller. Further, the host lady came and told us that we should not use the shower because they had some problems with it. Further, in one of the toilets, there were many drops of water dripping from the roof. That made us feel queesy. Further, the host said that the caretaker was on leave and there was no help whatever. We felt very uncomfortable.  The host, though polite, was very reserved in her communication, and told us that apart from breakfast in the morning, we had to make our own arrangements for the other meals and coffee/tea. We expressed our discomfort and indicated to her that we would like to move out and look for a different place. She then was good enough to offer other two rooms on the upper basement (1 level higher). These rooms and toilets were of a decent size.  The next morning, after one of us took a bath (even here we were asked not to use the shower) but to collect hot water in a bucket that was provided. It took about 15 min to get one bucket of hot water from the trickle from the tap. However, there was hot water only for only one bucket. The host then graciously offered to bring hot water in a bucket from her house on the ground floor.   The breakfast was simple but ok, and the interaction from the host was minimal, and very reserved and cold. When we left after 2 days, our thought was that  we should not be going there again.  We have been at other homestays Madikeri earlier but this did not compare any where near the comfort we had with others.

Stay, view, cleanliness was amazing

Rooms are too small bathroom even smaller. There was leaking from the wash basin and the living room was waterlogged. The owner was not at all coperative. Her attitude was like she is allowing us to stay free of cost. V reached in the afternoon, she told dont disturb the caretaker he ir she is sleeping. We went for sightseeing cane back at 9pm that time also caretaker was not available, he or she was sleeping, didnt come out even after kncoking the door for quiet some time. At 9:30pm the owner told dont disturb her she want to sleep. We needed plates, glass, etc. Afternoon she asked her whether they can prepare food, she told she cant, she cant go nd buy raw materials but latet that day we saw her walking through the street. It was mentioned barbeque facility was there but she told no cant be provided.. Next day she was keeping on disturbing us to vacate sharp at 11am.All together very bad experience especially the attitude of the owner was horrible. Will never ever suggest this homestay for others.

# Our Lovely Stay at Akki Home Stay We loved our two days at Akki Home Stay. Saujanya mam was a great host who helped us with everything we needed. The place was very clean and felt like home. It has amazing views and is just 1 km from town's hustle and bustle, making it a very peaceful, quite and serene place. We really enjoyed our time here and thank our kind hosts for making our stay so nice.

It was a good stay at this place it gives homely vibes, they have caretakers who looks after most of the things we need if you opt for breakfast then its even more good because you get to have tasty and home made food the owner of the homestay is very kind and friendly and is always available i recommend this place 10/10 in madikeri

The location of akki homestay was good and the rooms were very neat and comfortable

I searched to make my trip, we stayed 3 night's, stay and ambience was good, but the tv was not worked, and the breakfast was average.

The house is so well maintained, spacious, wonderful forest view, spacious balcony and delicious breakfast. The best part is the owner of the property is so welcoming and is always a call away for any help or guidance required. She even helped with the booking of cabs for the entire tour at affordable prices and all the drivers she routed us were safe and friendly. The mornings here used to be with the birds singing and the sound of the water in a small stream just below. It seemed i was in the lap of nature. Would definitely recommend this property and this is a must visit homestay in madikeri.

Overall it's good. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The location is within the city. Hosts are good. It will be a good homestay option when traveling with kids and family.

No power backup, even though i told them to prepare dinner well in advance, she couldn't prepare

The caretaker Mrs Soujanya was very polite and courteous in receiving us. Dr Rathish had also shared his experience of his profession. Spacious room, clean bathroom and well maintained mattress and pillows made our stay a memorable one. Recommended for families and couples❤️

Stay was comfortable, with ample arrangements of water, cozy beds and clean washroom. The host was amazingly supportive and guided us on sight seeing as well. The breakfast was warmly served and generously placed.
