Palani Murugan Temple
Palani Arulmigu Shri Dhandayuthapani Temple, one of the six sacred abodes of Lord Muruga, is located on the Palani Hillock, offering spiritual solace to thousands of devotees every year.
The idol of Lord Muruga is made of Navabashanas, an amalgamation of nine medicinal minerals. Created by Sage Bogar, this idol is believed to possess healing properties.
According to legend, Lord Muruga resided here after a dispute over the fruit of wisdom, symbolizing renunciation and wisdom.
During festivals like Thai Poosam and Pankuni Uththiram, large crowds of pilgrims walk barefoot, carry offerings, and take part in the tradition of shaving their heads in homage to the Lord.
The famous Panchamirdam, a mixture of honey, banana, raisins, dates, and jaggery, is offered to devotees as prasad.
