Vaishno Devi Temple
One of the most visited Shakti Peethas, this temple is dedicated to Mata Vaishnavi, an incarnation of the collective powers of Mata Maha Saraswati, Mata Maha Lakshmi, and Mata Maha Kali.
Set at an altitude of 5200 ft. above sea level, the temple comprises a Holy Cave with 3 Holy Pindies or rock formations dedicated to the 3 Goddesses. It is accessible only by a 12-km trek, horseback ride, or helicopter ride.
The temple is open all year round for darshan, except during the aarti hours, twice a day.
Aarti Timings: Morning - 6:00 am to 8:00 am | Evening – 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Panchmewa Prasad: Panchmewa prasad, a mixture consisting of Makhana, puffed rice, coconut chunks and dried fig can be bought at dedicated counters along the yatra route and within the temple complex.
About the Vaishno Devi Yatra
Pilgrims must register themselves online/offline and collect an RFID Yatra Access Card from the Yatra Registration Counters at either of the 2 Katra Bus Stands. Once the RFID card is issued, the devotees must cross the Banganga check post within 6 hours to validate it. The RFID card must be returned at the end of the yatra.
During peak seasons, the number of registrations is limited to 35,000. All other yatris are asked to wait and a waiting slip is issued for them.
A Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) and Government-issued ID like Aadhar card are mandatory.
