Gateway Madurai

Beautiful property nested 2-3 kilometers from the main road. Lot of character. Extremely beautiful ambience in a natural setting, beautiful peacocks, friendly staff, good Restaraunt with tasty food and lot of choices. Received very well, provided friendly help in referring a knowledgeable person Ashok, who is so pleasant, calm and helpful in directing us to visit special Divya Desam (Ancient Vishnu temples). Restaraunt staff well trained, courteous with lot of experience in maintaining Taj brand quality. Overall very impressed. Great value for money. The hotel needs more upkeep and remodeling to maintain longevity.

we loved the property. its beautiful, serene and the staff was very helpful . we stayed there for 1 night and definitely plan to go for a longer stay next time

All the staff was helpful and courteous, specially Mr. Ashok and Mr. Pandian were very at their very best. Food was delicious and housekeeping people were nice. It was a memorable stay

Love the environment . Lovely buildings, old gardens ,trees ,flowers and lots of peacocks fanning their beautiful feathers for uninterested. hens. On a hill overlooking temples ,town and local hills.liked the buggy to take as to room or front gate down at road where u can get auto or taxi into temple etc.also to restaurant. Good for arthritic bones. Pool was nice though decades ago it had a real deep end which I like Staff great especially Priyanka and Nalraman . Friendly , great English, and helpful in dining room.

Beautiful place in Madurai. Keep and calm environments with greenery. All staff is good and polite. Food is good and tasty.

The property is an old one, not upto the expectation of a 5 star. Taj service should be at a different level. the rooms had seepage. Food was very average and very limited options.

Right from the moment we stepped in, the warmth of the reception and the ever-smiling staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Everyone in the campus was always ready to assist, no matter the time or the request. We were traveling with our elderly parents, and the care, comfort, and attention we experienced made us feel like we were staying at home rather than in a hotel. Every little detail was taken care of with such thoughtfulness that our family felt completely at ease throughout. A special word of gratitude to Mr. Tapan and the restaurant staff – the food was prepared and served with so much love and heart that every meal became a cherished memory. In every aspect – hospitality, cleanliness, comfort, food, and service – The Gateway, Madurai, delivered a perfect 10/10. We left with hearts full of gratitude and would definitely love to return again. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Madurai! The quality, taste, and warmth in service were all top-notch.

I stayed here with my family for two nights, the property is in a hill top suprising in a city like madurai, this is a heritage property so the rooms felt like old British styled, the standard room was spacious with a view of the city from the balcony, the food is really good but bit expensive which you expect with Taj, well maintained property with great service kudos to the management and team. if you are looking for a real get away from bustling city life and enjoy your time with family a sure to go place.pls note most iconic places of madurai is a bit far so a vehicle is always handly.

The property is beautiful , the food is delicious but it’s lacking in service . The staff is very courteous to talk to, but in serving food they are lacking the basics… like jotting down the menu , serving the table , manners etc. Need to train them for these things .
