Hotel Elphinstone@Mall Road

Location of the hotel was very good, size of the property was huge, first impression was really impressive. Food was poor and very expensive, Ex- plain Maggie was for Rs120 and it same for other food items. Room service was very poor and staff was not skilled enough. You cannot expect any service after 9 pm.

Spectacular and pleasant stay at Elphinstone. I would suggest everyone to stay at least once in this hotel. You will feel the essense.

Everything is fine. Best in terms of location & view. 125 years old heritage property right on the lake above PNB Nainital Branch. Very large suite rooms. A bit old fashioned but that's what I like about the property. But the only problem is the management policy is equally dated. They are not 24 hrs service people. They are completely shut down from 10 pm to 8 am. There's no staff to take care of guests if any need arises for in-house or incoming guests. That's really very troublesome. In fact not a single person is there apart from 1 security guard who does nothing apart from sitting at the reception ignoring all calls.

The room was good. The owner/manager was ill mannered and rude. As a customer if we are paying you for the room you need to respect the customer’s wishes. Without even trying to understand anything he was rude from the beginning. Rest of the staff was nice.

Location is good near to mall road and have lake view. It is having a good lawn/garden. We did not try the food. Amenities were okay they hot water supply was from 7 to 2 which could have been better. The bedsheets were not so clean and a bit smelling. The room service ans cleaning was not upto the mark.

Amazing hospitality and food...amazing location as just lake facing property and gives you a touch of British time especially the dining room. and his staff has been extremely friendly and made sure my stay was comfortable.

The hotel is really pathetic, please don’t ever book this property. It was not worth at all.

Location wise hotel is very well situated, accessible to bus and taxi stand plus if you want to take e-rickshaw then the stand is nearby. Mall road starts from here and you have to move in one direction. In house food is comparatively good and reasonable, main benefits are it has multiple entry and exits. Restaurants and rent a bike are just down stairs, ATM is also very nearby. View is fantastic from the third floor specially in the morning and evening you will have the complete view of lake. The only down point are the room size and hygiene if that improves then no hotel can compete with this. The hotel staff are very caring and well mannered. All in all this is a very good property to stay .

1. Location.... V good 2. Nice lawn & view of Lake..... V good 3. Food..... Not ✅, as very higher price. In respect of nearby other restaurants. 4. 👎No geyser facility. Only boiler water available in Morning for 3/4 hours. If somebody returns from sight seeing at evening OR checked in at Night, would have to face hot water issue.....

Pathetic experience. We reached around 10:30pm and it was well communicated over the call multiple times but when we reached there, gates were closed and no one was present at hotel. We tried calling multiple times but call was not answered. I was standing on road with my family (including senior citigens and kids) for half an hour (in such chilling condition. After lots of struggle, we were able to find out one small gate that was open. We reached at reception and found that reception is also closed and no one is there to suppoert/anser the calls. It was nightmare for us then we found the contact no of guard (one prinout was pasted near reception gate) and contacted him to get our rooms. They don't have much facilities for food. It was struggle for more than one hour to get our rooms and by that time all restaurants at mall road were closed for food also. The only good thing about this hotel is location, apart from that i didn't find any positives here.

Very good and accommodating staff. The rooms have excellent views. The food is good and hygienic. The resturant has lake view

Terrible experinece. Paid 6000 per night for a room. Smelly bathroom &bedroom. Rooms and bathrooms are not maintained at all.

Property is very old, you will have to join the gym so that you can close the door. Cleanliness is so poor. Food is very oily and terrible. No kettle no fan. Staff is very arrogant and rude even the owner is rude. No parking space. You have to leave the room in 10 minutes time. Very terrible experience. Makemytrip please remove the contact number as the person is not interested in helping the guest. Very far from naina devi temple. Only limited food options available at hotel.

Hotel is good, food was also of hotel good, and hotel staff anil was good and has given good hospitality.

Pros: 1. Extremely spacious rooms 2. Great location overlooking the lake 3. Took care for customer service especially mr. Dinesh 4. Heritage property cons: 1. Pricey food menu writ quantity with basic items missing. 2. Just 1 free plug point in the entire room. 3. Very small commode and without jet spray inspite of huge washroom 4. Property needs renovation as woodwork and wall plasters coming apart. 5. The tv size is so small that cannot be viewed from bed. Hotel not recommended for folks planning a relaxation and beyond 1-2 days. It's very costly considering gaps in basic logistics and infrastructure. If they can get the above cons to correct, it has the potential to become a great property.

Positive - location is good, 0 min walk from mall road, staff is polite and responsive, food taste is also good constructive - hygiene is not good, toilet jet is not working properly, property owner assure to get this rectify. Food is costly as compared to local shops around there.
