Hostel By The Sea

We were 4, the toilets were disgusting. No clean blankets. We used another bedsheet as blanket. Insane amount of mosquitos. And the repellent was only one for the whole dormitory. Ac was off very often. And we have to call the guy to turn the ac on with the remote. Dusty as hell. Not clean 2/10. Would not recommend. Only case is that it was new year and we couldn't find another place in fortkochi for 4 people. That's the reason we stayed there

The washrooms were not maintained well the dorms were not clean enough there were too many mosquitoes in the dorm. These issues were communicated to the person incharge several time after which he finally installed mosquito repellent which was okish, but had to get our own mosquito coils.

I stayed here for one night, room, bathroom and staff were all good, but i couldn't sleep till dawn tonight, i couldn't stand the mosquito bites, i lay with the mosquito bites until dawn. Sleep is gone. If there are no mosquito bites, the room is very good.

We were 5 memeber group, and hostel by the sea was the best we could ask for in that price range. The best part is you can enjoy sea view from there and also having good transportation arrangements.

It was not well maintained worst place cockroaches all around

Booked the hostel during a short visit to fort kochi. On arrival there was nobody to check us in and the contact number provided was not reachable. When we entered the place we noticed it was fully occupied by students and had poor maintenance (dusty and smell of cigarettes) had to move to a different hotel as this place felt very dingy, also payment was non refundable. Do not trust the pictures and description

Location is good. Very near to public transportation.

Only issue is no hot water. Otherwise it's a good place.

I stayed at the hotel for a considerably cheaper rate as I'd booked it through MMT. It's a great place to stay in Kochi as most places are very well connected to it. Also, it's just a few meters away from where the ferry drops you at Fort Kochi.

Great stay and hospitality. Mattresses were not tidy. There's only 2 toilets for almost 20 guests. They also provide kitchen facility too. Great location. But can't get rid of mosquitoes. All over good stay. Satisfactory for this price range.

Laundry service was very bad. Pricy and they could not handle cloths at all. White shirts came back brown. So they had to wash them a second time.
To many beds. Room was packed with beds. Felt like a bed in a bed can with twenty other bed. Pure money making.

No breakfast, no tea and coffee, no Wi-Fi, no tissues. Reason given is that it is off season.

Room, bathroom maintenance was good. Bed sheets are clean and fresh. AC was good. View was quite relaxing. Very easy for the bus transportation, just right off the gate. Things to be improved: No heater in the bathroom, no drinking water facility, communication is a barrier with a receptionist, knows only Hindi, no English or no Malayalam. It was mentioned that lock can lend for that you have to pay but he said locks are not available for the locker below the bed. Overall, it's a very affordable place with many shots nearby like the beach, kochi fort, churches, temples, park, etc. Also there are many nice cafe and restaurants nearby. Overall, very happy with the stay.

Good thing about this hostel is that you get to know a lot of people from different countries, the location is also awesome, it at this price, it is difficult to find any other place with these facilities. AC was also working fine, just ambient perfect temperature to get a good comfortable cozy sleep. The mattress quality was also good, it was soft and birth had a plenty of space. There was no hot water, though it is not required in this climate, but this must be noted while booking, if individual requirement needs hot water for Bath. What I didn't liked is service, it is highly understaffed. Just 2 people are managing it day and night. These people look tired and worn out in the morning, the time when their service Is required the most, you won't get proper answer when you ask for assistance, since they are in slumber. When I asked for a breakfast, I was told that there were no breads and no Maggie. I was also not able to rent towel. Since the person in charge was sleeping and I couldn't wake him up. Overall, I had a pleasant stay in the hostel, I would like to visit again. I made a lot of new friends, interacted with them and we exchanged ideas.

It was a decent stay at the hostel by the Sea. The property is close to the bus stand and the beach. The washrooms could have been kept cleaner and the WiFi could be improved as it was hard to get it in the dorm sometimes.

Room was clean.. Location is nice view is great but they failed to provide breakfast as told by makemytrip... Its opposite to fort Kochi ferry so well connected.. Staff were friendly and gave useful info.

Great location, just opposite to seashore, good and easy access to restaurants, neat interiors and well maintained, comfortable stay, good for group travellers, bcs it's a dormitory, easy to locate, staff are good

It's really an awesome hostel. I liked it! Near the lake or ocean, the hostel is well connected with the main bazaar. Hotel, beach, favourite places are located near by! Keep up the good services for travellers
