Akasa Airline - Baggage Allowance Policy

Akasa has defined their baggage allowance policy in detail to help customers plan their luggage in advance as per the limitations and avoid hassle at the last minute. Below are the points that one should consider for the baggage allowance policy of Akasa Airlines:

• Passengers are allowed to carry up to 7kgs as hand baggage.
• The check-in baggage allowance is capped at 15kg per passenger for Akasa air travellers, also the 15kg limit is applicable to one piece of bag only.
• Passengers are allowed to book additional baggage for their travel needs, which is chargeable at 900 INR per piece of baggage and the pre-booking can be done online easily.
• Passengers who have booked tickets under marine, defence or student category are allowed to carry 2 check-in baggage.
• For domestic flights check-in baggage a charge of Rs.900 will be levied for every additional baggage when booked online, however, passengers will be required to pay Rs.1000 when making an extra baggage request at the airport. Excess baggage allowance is charged over and above the extra bag as per the below table:

• Passengers can pre-book/purchase the permission to carry a sports/music equipment at a charge of Rs.1200 per equipment.
• The cost incurred for pre-purchased baggage is non-refundable in case the final baggage is within the prescribed limit.
• The dimensions of the check-in baggage should not exceed 158 cms in total of L+W+H.
• Passengers are allowed to purchase extra baggage for each category separately as per their need.
• Passengers are not allowed to modify/cancel the pre-purchased baggage booking one they have made the purchase.
• The cancellation of pre-booked baggage is only allowed in case the whole flight ticket is cancelled.
• The charges for extra baggage will be refunded fully for both fully and partially refundable tickets.
• If the passengers modifies their travel date, the same date will be applied automatically to the extra baggage.
• If the passengers fails to show at the gate for travel no refund will be made for excess baggage purchase.
• If any dispute arises with respect to excess baggage, the decision made by Akasa airlines will be final and binding.

Akasa Airlines - Web Check-in and Verification

Akasa airlines has not started providing web check-in facility to its passengers as of now. However, you can opt for priority check-in services that will help in smooth onboarding process while avoiding long ques at the airport counters and board your flight in time. The priority check-in service also allows customers to get their baggage delivered earlier than the regular non priority customers once they arrive at their destination. Just like the extra baggage service, the priority check-in service can also be pre-booked online to avoid the hassle at the airport counter and passengers are allowed to make the booking for priority check-in until one hour prior to the flight departure.

• Priority check-in and baggage arrival is chargeable at a nominal fee of Rs. 400 per passenger.
• Priority check-in service is only offered to the passengers who have confirmed Akasa airlines ticket.
• The charges for priority check-in service are non-refundable.

• In case the passenger modifies the travel date, the pre-booked priority check-in will also be transferred to the updated date.
• No refunded will be provided for no show of the passengers at the airport if they have purchased the service in advance.
• The pre-booked priority check-in services can only be cancelled when the concerning flight booking is also cancelled.
• Any dispute arising out of priority check-in and bag facility will be settled after the final decision from Akasa airline.
