Valentine Hostel

It was the worst stay anywhere ever. First of all the hostel was not to find on the given address. I phoned the owner, who after a short talk quit-ted the call and and turned of his phone. I walked around quite a lot with heavy luggage before i finally found the place. Then they had given my booked and paid bed to someone else and i had even to argue for quite a while to be able to stay there. It was already evening and it would have been hard to find anything else. Finally that allowed me to sleep in another room. I had arrived in pondicherry around 18h, but after all that searching and convincing then to give me a bad as i had booked it, it was after 21h. So then i also had the problem that is was hard to find a decent place to eat at that hour. Later i wanted to get up to the rooftop, which was one of the reasons why i had booked that hostel. But the manager told me, i was only allowed to be in my floor. The next day i found my wallet in the hostel outside my room. All bigger money, at all more than 1000 rupees had been taken out of it. Later around 11on the morning, when i had left to go to auroville, the owner called me that i would have to come back immediately. He said, they needed that bed and i would have to change room immediately. When i said, i would need some time to go back, he insulted me and accused me to make use of his "kindness. Because he said it was kind of him to give me that vied at all. So i had to stop my trip and to come back. That was horrible, because i only had that day in pondicherry and wanting to see auroville was the main reason, why i had come to pondicherry at all. So in the final i was not able to as it, because i had to come back to the hostel in the middle of the day. Moreover the bathrooms were quite filthy. In one of them there was even water leaking through the ceiling and dropping down. The only good thing in that hostel were the other guest there. Mainly young people from all over india, with whom i had nice conversations.

It was good and nice to stay over there without any disturbance i stayed there as a solo traveller it was nice to stay

It was a nice place for a budget traveler like me. The host was nice and the hostel was centrally located

Am yet to get my refund. Coz i didn't stay, bed was not available. Owner have assured me a refund. Thank you.

Best place to stay if you are an solo traveller, easy access to all the key areas will recommend for all the solo traveller for sure.

The location of the hostel is very good but the only problem i faced was about cleanliness and hygiene.

The property was nice, and the location was pretty close to everything. It's just that they didn't offered any of the necessary items like soaps and sheets to cover, which is usually expected from hostels. The manager was nice and considerate, i had fun with my roommates, other fellow travellers

This was rather an average staying experience. •First thing being, for someone who has come for an official work, they are in need of the payment bill which they seem not to have. secondly, the hospitality was dull moreover. •The rooms are not well maintained as half the doors are broken or hard to even close shut. however the beds are pretty comfy and cozy •The staff is available 24/7 for any assistance but there comes a question about hygiene, which is not dealt with properly. •The location of the property was an easy find, and this place is very well placed as you can really move to places quickly as everything is close by. •The money they charge for the stay is okayish, nothing too expensive and I would say they can lower the price as the necessities and expectations are not met. •Food is not provided over here as far as I know, but since the hotels are close by it wasn't much of a problem. For a guy travelling alone who only needs a room to stay, this fullfilled that job.

Kitchen was not clean as it was smelling. Hand-wash was not provided in the washroom. There was on the floor. It could be better. Overall experience was not worth.

The place was like a dumpster. No hygiene was practiced and the infrastructure was so poor. Ac didn't work properly and they charge way too much

Best budget friendly stay. Room was good. Near to railway station and beach. Silent area.

Nice location and a friendly host. Unfortunately, it isn't very big but it was a pleasant stay.

The property was very near to almost all the tourist spots in pondicherry. Since i wanted something which is walkable to most of the places, this hostel was the best go-to. The beach is very nearby just a 10 mins walk. Enjoyed the stay!
