Rooms are not as per what’s been posted. No pool, nothing! No good ambience. The NON AC room is nothing. It’s just a hut.

We had such a lovely stay at calaila Boutique Stay! The place has a warm, cozy vibe and the interiors are beautifully done. The staff was super polite and made sure we had everything we needed. Perfect spot for a peaceful getaway in Varkala — highly recommended!

Not value for money, The room was not worth for the money,bathroom toilet seat was shaking and leaking,room was not well cleaned,cockroaches are there, the only good thing was pool,rest things were bad,night time there were something crawling on the roof ,if you want healthy sleep and if you are looking for something value for the money go for aomwthing better,dont get fooled by social media.

Firstly room was not clean at all, it was damp and moisty, it was stinking, the mattress was damp too

Very small room, you can't even open a single bag. No amenities in the bathroom, used towel, pillow. When there is no electricity there is No power back. Still they charge a very premium rate.

Bad room condition, No water heater , bad walls

Their of plunge pool, clean rooms, nicely decorated rooms or maybe they took it when they freshly painted. We were charged high rates and you'd think that you will be getting the room as advertised with a plunge pool. Guess what? we were shown to a room situated adjacent to the main property, which is just a 1star or lower rated room. This is basically and I'm not sure how they are even allowed to run a place like this ZERO maintenance whatsoever. Linens were dirty, no hot water and water pipe just drip water. We checked out the main property as well and that wasn't great either. Same condition. They just deceive you by posting white/blue rooms to give you Santorini vibes. Nicely done, Calaila! Honestly when looking at nearby properties we were so how bad Zero house keeping, zero front desk. Run by a bunch of 20s attenders, has no customer service mindset. Their "FRONT DESK" is a musty desk and you wouldn't even know it. When we asked to store our luggages, they asked us to keep it next to front desk, which was basically exposed to all elements, and most of the time none of these attenders are even seen and the gate is open 24x7. One positive note: they did not allow us early check in / late check out, however, they did allow us to shower at start / end which we are very grateful, however, overall experience was pathetic to say the least. We had to ask very nicely though, thrice to get this (first two times we were straight up said NO)

The Calaila Stay was not as expected as seen in the photos. Not very well maintained horticulture wise and basic amenities like washroom were coming apart from its place. Small spaces and gaps in doors made it not worth the money spent. The only possible upside is the short distance between the stay and the north cliff area.

there is outrage power supply issue and there is a lot of difference between the photo and room and the pool water is not clean as well as . it is not worth the money

We had booked our stay at calaila at very short notice. The setting of the actual property is pretty good. I rated our experience as good because the hosts are approachable and we received an upgrade. We had booked the standard room, but when we checked in, found that for the amount we were charged, it was not worth it at all. The way to the room wasn’t great, the room had a very musty smell, was not well maintained at all and was in a house next to the actual property. The ac was also not working. But when we approached the hosts about our concern, they were very accommodating and gracious enough to upgrade the room to a cottage and that was pretty good. The room needs some touch up with the paint and owners can consider adding a plug point near the bed. Otherwise it was a good room with traditional decor and a small private outdoor area with a tiny pool. The bed was very comfortable too. Overall, with the upgrade, we are really satisfied. Special thanks to the hosts once again.

The room allotted was smelly and by evening, very small insects were found on the bed. It was heavily raining & the roof was leaking, wetting the floor & bed. As the rain became intense, water started entering the room from outside filling the room with water. Staff was co-operative and allotted a new room in the midnight itself. The rooms badly require maintenance.
