I recently stayed at Rachana’s Black Beach Resort and had a pleasant experience overall. The best part of this resort is definitely the location – it’s just a short walk from the beach, calm, and away from the heavy crowds. The surroundings are peaceful, making it a good spot to relax and unwind. The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any requests. The pool was well-maintained during my stay and added a refreshing touch, especially after spending time at the beach. Rooms were comfortable and fairly spacious, giving good value for the price. That said, a few areas could use improvement. Housekeeping could be more consistent, and amenities like bathrooms and bed linens could be better maintained. The in-house dining options were limited, so it’s worth checking nearby restaurants at the cliff for more variety. Overall, this is a budget-friendly resort with a great location and a relaxing vibe. Perfect for travelers who want easy beach access, a nice pool, and a peaceful atmosphere, as long as you don’t expect luxury standards.

Horrible Experience – Not Worth It 1. This is not a 3-⭐️⭐️⭐️ hotel . Rooms are like a railway lodge 2. I booked 3 rooms, but the hotel had no proper car parking. (Only 4 parking spaces for 35 rooms!) 3. Breakfast was mentioned as “included,” but it was not in the hotel. Instead, we had to walk 200 meters or take a cab 🚕 to another place. 4. The swimming pool was full of excess chlorine . It caused burning and irritation on children’s skin . 5. The reception staff’s attitude was rude and unhelpful. Overall: A highly disappointing stay. Definitely not recommended

Worst ever experience.no cleanliness at all.washrooms are horrible.i just spend 2 hour and run away.beds are like sleeping on a wood , i forced to book another property i simply lost amount. Please don’t go there

Overall rooms were clean and spacious, but lack of basic amenities and maintenance outside of the hotel room was not so good.

Okayish rooms. Not bad. Swimming pool was bad, they didn’t even clean it. Was in Prime location, so that’s a big plus.

Whether you’re a solo traveler, a couple, or on a spiritual retreat, this spot is a hidden gem worth discovering.

My stay at Rachanas Black Beach Resort in Varkala was extremely disappointing. There was no hot water in the room—they gave us a risky heating rod instead. The room was full of bed bugs, covered in dust, and had a constant foul smell. The toilet seats were in poor condition, and the swimming pool was highly chlorinated. To make things worse, there was a dummy telephone in the room with no LAN connection—completely useless in case of any need. The only decent part of the stay was the complimentary breakfast. Not recommended.

The experience was not present. There was a block in the bathroom drainage and in midst of taking the bath, had to get that cleaned. Also, pool waterfall was not switched on while my family was inside the pool. The rate is not worth it. But not too bad either
