Badra Jungle Retreat. Chikkamagaluru

I booked this bhadra jungle retreat but unfortunately, my experience was disastrous. After traveling from bangalore to chikkamagaluru early in the morning and exploring the sites all day, we embarked on our journey to the bhadra jungle retreat from hebbe falls, which was showing in google map to take around 2. 5 hours (120km. However, after covering almost 80% of the distance, it got late, and i called the hotel to check for dinner availability. The receptionist informed me that the hotel was fully occupied by a large corporate group and will get back to me. Later she called back and said rooms are not available so asked me to call makemytrip to arrange an alternative accommodation. Despite having a booking confirmation, we were left stranded in the middle of nowhere, late at night, with no hotel room available, i asked her to check any single room at least to accommodate but the receptionist refused to help, and i called the customer care of makemytrip but they were unable to reach the hotel. This experience was exhausting, especially with two kids in tow. I would strongly advise against trusting this hotel, even with a booking confirmation, as the experience was terrible, and i'm unsure what it would be like the treatment if we had actually stayed there. I travel-led another 5-6km and with the locals help stayed in a near by home stay which was not even having basic facilities.

Homestay was in the middle of coffe estate. Best part was badra river was next to the homestay and we can go and enjoy in the river. The host was really helpful in arranging bbq in evening. Dinner and breakfas were great taste of malnad style. Rooms were clean and nice. It was really nice stay with family. You can enjoy some sports at homestay and the small swimming pool was amazing. I would highly recommend the homestay for families.
