The hotel was booked en route a trip as it got too late for a long drive ahead and we decided to take a halt for the night. When we reached, strange enough for a hotel, they had all the shutters down and there was hardly any lighting around. Perplexed with the situation, we doubted it was the entrance at all so i phoned the hotel on three numbers given on the confirmation message and connected on the third. A man answered and said we were at the entrance indeed and he was coming. After some time, one of the shutters opened and a staff member showed up. When we asked why they have all shutters closed, he said they have to do so after a certain time as it is a 'bar hotel. He then said the parking is inside and the reception is by the side. We decided to take a look and proceeded to find this moderate parking space and a little glassed entrance that said reception. There were no cars and a couple of motorcycles. Dark all around, it didn't look welcoming or safe, leave alone comfort, just forget anything cosy. They said they would close the shutter after the guest checks in. It kind of made sense why the first listed policy said "unmarried couples are not allowed. It certainly did not look safe for any couples or even families (btw, who carries marriage documents along) anyway, even though the money was non-refundable and high for what seemed to be a mediocre facility, it was not worth it to take any chances than driving back home, so we opted out of stay. The booking couldn't be cancelled, the money was lost but rather be safe than sorry.
