A very pleasant stay with good food and superb hospitable people

**My Trip Houseboat – Alleppey (Alappuzha), Kerala** We recently stayed in *My Trip Houseboat* at Alleppey, Kerala. We had booked the boat for a full 24-hour stay to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and the crew helped us with birthday arrangements at an additional cost. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. **Check-in & Check-out:** * Check-in: 12:00 pm * Check-out: 9:00 am next day * Guests can choose either a **12–5 pm day cruise** or a **12–9 am overnight stay** option. **Our Experience:** * **Lunch:** Soon after check-in, we were served a traditional Kerala vegetarian lunch with authentic flavors. * **Evening snacks:** While the boat cruised through the backwaters, we enjoyed delicious snacks with tea/coffee. * **Special touch:** During the evening halt, we purchased *Karimeen (Pearl Spot fish)* locally. The chef prepared it beautifully for us without any extra cooking charges. * **Dinner:** We opted for the non-vegetarian menu, which included chicken and fish dishes. For the birthday celebration, the crew had arranged a special setup and served dinner separately, making the occasion memorable. * **Next morning:** The boat started again around 8 am, and we were served a tasty Kerala-style breakfast before checkout. **Overall:* It was a truly delightful stay – peaceful backwaters, good food, friendly crew, and excellent arrangements. We took plenty of photos and videos, and the birthday celebration felt very special. *My Trip Houseboat* is definitely worth the money and a must-try experience in Alleppey.

it was a decent trip, food was good, stay was good. crew was really helpful, especially priyo. cruising time could be longer and the room and bedsheets smelled a little.

I recently had a houseboat trip with *My Trip boat house via MakeMyTrip* and, while the scenic beauty was breathtaking and the staff were friendly, the overall experience was far from what was promised. #### **Accommodation & Amenities:** The houseboat itself was decent, with functioning air conditioning, but lacked several advertised amenities. There was **no TV, no Wi-Fi, no kettle, and—most frustratingly—no running water during peak morning hours**. This made basic hygiene difficult and severely impacted comfort. #### **Staff & Service:** On a positive note, the **staff were courteous and accommodating**, doing their best despite the limitations of the boat. Their hospitality and service were the saving grace of this experience. #### **Food Quality:** The **food was well-prepared and authentic Kerala cuisine**, which was a highlight of the trip. However, considering the overall service shortcomings, the dining experience alone couldn’t compensate for the disappointment. #### **Rules & Transparency:** A list of rules and regulations was only handed over **upon arrival**, instead of being communicated during booking. This led to unexpected restrictions that could have been avoided with upfront transparency. Including these details in the booking process would help future travelers make informed decisions. ### **Final Thoughts & Suggestions for Improvement:** While the **staff and food were commendable**, the **lack of basic amenities and misleading service listings made the experience frustrating**. Here are some crucial areas that need improvement: ✅ **Ensure all promised amenities are available** ✅ **Provide clear information on rules & regulations during booking** ✅ **Guarantee consistent access to basic necessities like running water** For those considering a houseboat experience, **verify the amenities beforehand and ensure full transparency**. I truly hope future guests have a more seamless and enjoyable journey.

I had a wonderful experience on the houseboat in Alleppey. The views of the backwaters were peaceful and beautiful. The boat was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed delicious local food on board, and it was a very relaxing trip overall

we booked my trip boat house but diverted to another boat house,started 2 pm, no sunrise ride, boat rooms heavy drainage smell, taxi drivers agressive behaviour

The place was suffocating, no air circulation, food was bad . floor was dirty and smelling. Behavior of the staff in the boat was not good.

We had great trip at houseboat in alleppey. Good host service and yummy food with humble staff and service. We love it and hopefully back again at my trip houseboat

The hospitality was exceptional. Our host and facilty both of whom were friendly and attentive. They made us feel right at home and ensured that our needs were met throughout the journey. The chef prepared a mouthwatering spread of authentic Keralan cuisine, including fresh seafood, vegetable curries, and an array of delicious side dishes. Each meal was a delight, and I highly recommend trying the local fish curry—it's a true highlight.

it was an incredible experience for our family.The boat was very clean and well-maintained, and it was perfect for our stay. The crew and captain were fantastic – they made sure we had plenty of stops for fun activities and even accommodated special requests that weren’t on the menu or itinerary. We had an amazing stay at the Golden Shore Houseboat! The boat has 3 clean and comfortable rooms, all with AC. The food was fresh, delicious, and authentically Kerala-style. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service. We really enjoyed the two cruises during our stay – one in the evening and another in the morning – which allowed us to experience the beautiful Kerala backwaters, canals, and views of the Arabian Sea. It was a truly relaxing and memorable experience.
