A Home Away from Home in the Heart of Shillong

This homestay is an absolute gem, beautifully built and thoughtfully designed with warm, aesthetic interiors that instantly make you feel at home. The ambience radiates comfort and charm in every corner. The caretaker was incredibly welcoming and made the stay feel truly personal and homely. Every moment here was memorable. I don’t think I’ll ever stay anywhere else whenever I’m back in Shillong — this place has my heart. An unforgettable experience.

I had a pleasant stay with my family, friendly host/caretaker Rimekha, location is great as it's not too close to town and not so far as well. A well maintained lawn and collection of antique items add charm to the home. Just wished if it had a meal facility with local dishor self cook facility.

Due to some issues in mmt, we were unable to stay at montevideo homestay. However, the owner of montevideo homestay was kind enough for arranging our stay at maw-dong homestay where the hospitality was quite good and i am satisfied with the arrangements.

couplelocation is in a good upmarket residential area. not bad for someone who wants to stay away from city life. however, the prices what we paid was definitely not commensurate with the kind of property or the facilities available. owner is available on phone & the caretaker is pliable & cooperative. a good stay if the prices were reduced.

Good Stay

Very good homely experience. The stay was as described. Cozy, and comfortable. Clean bathroom with a good shower and hot water. The hosts were very good, caroline and the cook looked after us well. The only downside was the noise from the neighboring room for the last two days of our stay (arriving very late in the night, loud chatting and laughing at odd hours, woke us up in the night but i guess that’s how it is, not sure if they can have some kind of a house rule applicable so other guests staying are not disturbed, no other complaints.

We apologise on behalf of the other guests, they had booked it for a get together hence the slight noise. We will make sure that guests stick to their timings.
