Calangute Alcove |1 BHK Apartment & Pool

The hotel’s location was incorrect as shown on the map, and we wandered around to find it out. Also the wifi was not there and they were not providing swimming pool as we have to wait 2-3 days to get one. The service was very poor as the caretakers were not even attending our phone calls.

Homestay type, big apartment. Maintenance is much needed. Hygiene and cleanliness is fuller neglected. Huge apartment with four blocks, each block with ground plus three stories and no lift. Quite costly for the convenience available, no restaurant attached. No complimentary breakfast, no wi-fi, approach road is in a lane and scary. Not fit for families.

Wi-fi is available but on chargeableroom cleaners service was not availablebreakfast they are providing from outside. Only bread and sandwich available. No tea no coffee. Bedsheets didn't changetowels not offered

No internet, no electricity, no cleanliness. There were coackroaches in the rooms. Very bad experience.

The service was very good and location is near by beach walk in distance so can do the shopping and other things swimming pool is well maintained

3. The stay was decent. There were not enough towels. Tv was there just for the name sake, there was no recharge. The owner is not so polite.

Room is not clean during check-in and no room cleaning during your stay. Kitchen is terrible. Better to avoid checking in. And overpriced too.

Not at all hygienic, bedsheets blankets were full of bad odour and dirty, no room cleaning service, breakfast was pathetic, very disappointed.

Not stayed there even a single day

It was totally unpleasant stay. Dirty curtains. Stinky toilet. No door latch. Owner is totally unprofessional and rude person. Do have pool working. No parking place. Hotel please flatten our car tyre. It's hell place. Horrible experience. Waste of money and trip got spooled due to this incident. Reception staff utter rude. And yes owner did made fuss abt our stay. You should should down this place. U are luring people with nice pic but originally place is worst to stay.

My stay at the apartment involved 2 set of rooms and each were world apart from each other. Thus i am forced to write a long review across both the apartments. Let me start by mentioning the benefits of staying here 1. Parking is ample and i am sure even in peak season you will find a place to sneak in your vehicle, 2. The host is helpful and his intentions are noble. But there are limitations, beyond his control and probably a complete overhaul of the process is required. Common concerns: 1. The entry to the apartment is through the colonia de braganza resort. It involves walking through the resort to your apartment, up and down across staircase and meandering alleys to your block. If you have heavy luggage surely give it a miss else you will break your back. I was in goa for 7 days and the first 2 days i booked this apartment. You can imagine me dragging my 14 kg sack from one block to another every day because i had to change my room. 2. The apartment cannot be termed as luxurious even under the influence of alcohol. Maintenance is on a caretaker who is dedicated, yet not trained. I really doubt if the bedsheets, blankets, pillow covers are changed on a guest checking out. I have reason for this because i found stains on the bedsheets across the rooms. Thus, please carry your bedsheets and pillow cover if you need to stay here. 3. Plug points, sockets need maintenance. No check done on lights and fixtures before handing over a room to a guest. 4. These days you visit any place you can smell disinfectants when you check in. There were no such smell and for the records i did not have a blocked nose. 5. Can you believe that breakfast is served only after 10 am. The first day it arrived at 10:30 am and the next we excused ourselves. The choices are bread omelette, bread butter toast and bread jam toast without even tea and coffee. Pretty simple isn’t it? strongly recommend not to choose breakfast as there are plenty of options on walking distance. 6. On 15th evening the staff suddenly dreamt of that my payment is pending, while i have paid on 3rd august 2021. What ensured was to and fro to make them believe that they need to act fast and keep a track of their accounts better. By midnight it was resolved when they spoke to mm t and got a confirmation that payment was indeed made. My first apartment c611: 1. It was an apartment which should not have been given to us. Poor hygiene, non maintenance was written all over it. 2. The big plus was 2 balcony where you cannot sit as it requires thick skin to wade off the invasions of the deadly mosquitoes. Three dilapidated and stained chairs were provided in one of the balcony, which did not meet my standards and thus left unused even in the daytime 3. In the drawing room the fan speed was set at 1 and ac was not present. The regulator plug was missing and thus the fan speed could not be changed thus restricting myself to the bedroom. The tv was unique too it refused to play 4. In the bedroom the pillow cover and the bedsheets did not meet our standards either. Maybe i have high standard than what is expected. Infact, i used a laundry bag wrapped over the pillow to feel comfortable. 5. As mentioned the bedroom had a ac and a fan. The fan was clearly a cousin of the fan at the drawing room and it refused to move most of the time. The ac worked whenever it could and it couldn’t it was due to power outage at goa. 6. The bathroom was the sweet spot. Thankfully it looked clean and did not bother me at all. 7. It has 2 balconies with a better view than the previous one. You can view the blue pool and the mosquitoes vanished like magic. It rained in the evening thus it can be a result of that too. 8. The pool was closed due to the covid guidelines of the govt of goa. But in believe in peak season it would be quite a good place to hang around 9. The bathroom did not have a working bulb it reinforced my belief that there is no checklist and protocol of housekeeping. 10. The staircase did not have lights. But the watchman who escorted us in the night ( because i could not remember the house number) told me in peak season it will work i messaged my host on checking in that i am disappointed with the room. He was witty enough to reply the next day in the afternoon, which i did not read. By that time i was out in the middle of nature planning to go back only at midnight just to land myself and spend the night. But i am grateful that he called me and informed me that he has made an arrangement for a new room and i can change when i reach the apartment. I am glad, albeit it took 24 hours and i still give him the benefit of doubts. Maybe all the good rooms were filled. But i still don’t think we should have been moved into c 611 in the first place nevertheless we were move to the swimming pool facing room. Apartment: c- 322: this apartment was much better and can be called luxurious with a pinch of salt. 1. The tv does not work here. The caretaker tried a few tricks which invariably did not work. Thus, he excused himself stating he will bring some wires. I knew it was a good escape strategy and i allowed it 2. The bathroom is really good in this room and you feel neat and clean when you take a shower here. I was happy. In then night the light did not work. 3. The ac in the bedroom was working fine but the fan regulator works only at top speed. 4. The drawing room and the bedroom was much cleaner than c 611. 5. The bedsheets and pillow were better but it was surely not changed. So i went back to my trick of covering the pillow with laundry bags which i carried 6. The room was in the 3rd floor and climbing with luggage with a mask can burst your heart out. Overall measuring all the pros and cons, not worth a second visit. Lets move on to better properties all over goa at a similar price. But if you have to then prefer the ones facing the swimming pools.
