Disappointing Experience at Amritara Surya, Mcleodganj

Day 1: Room Service Issue We tried to order in-room dining for breakfast, but the room service team refused, forcing us to opt for the buffet instead. This was disappointing, especially since we were looking forward to a more personalised experience in the comfort of our suite. Day 2: Unhygienic Conditions The situation worsened when we noticed several centipedes crawling on the floor, and one even on the bed. We reported this to the front desk, expecting a prompt resolution. Instead, they offered us an inferior executive room,downgrading from our originally booked suite. With no other option, we accepted the new room on the condition that hotel will change my room next day. Day 3: AC and Fan Issues After shifting to the new room, we encountered further issues. Both room ACs would stop working after just 5 minutes of operation and excessive sound in day room/drawing room, and one fan's regulator was faulty—either fully on or completely off, with no control over the speed. Hotel did not resolve the air condition issue.These technical issues significantly impacted our stay. Overall Experience Given the series of problems we faced—poor service, unhygienic conditions, and maintenance issues—it’s clear that the hotel needs to improve its standards. While we hope these issues are addressed in the future, our experience fell short of expectations.

Pathetic experience

Stay experience was pathetic, room AC got leaked & when they tried for 4 hours to repair it they got failed, upon request they gave the other room with same problem & at the end of the day they said we have to stay in the same room as they don’t have availability of room; we have no option than to stay in that hotel without AC

so I have previously stayed in amritara chain but thoa hotel is not qualified for the 4 star hotel. I have booked the standard room and faced below problems. 1) room has a sepage issue in the Seelan ke badboo 2) the whole gallery and room has a smell of cigarette and bidi 3) door bell is not working 4) bathroom has a lock like jugad chitakni type overall worst experience it feels like you are staying in sarai or any dharamshala not recommended to anyone with family couple or a single

Extremely well located hotel. Walking distance from main market, Dalai Lama temple. Had an awesome 3N stay with family. Loved the spacious Suite with all modern amenities, it was like a cosy private apartment. Their food is delicious, reasonably priced & offers a good breakfast spread. The staff is courteous and takes good care of the guests. Liked the service by Mr Sanjeev Sharma in Restaurant and Mr Santosh & Dhananjay at the front desk. The only issue was the epabx wasn't working which finally got repaired, rest all was great. We loved the convenience to walk down to the market anytime without needing any conveyance. Highly recommended.

PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING! We booked a superior suite the most expensive room and we recieved the worst of the worst service by the Hotel management. We went with a 1 year old baby thinking of the fact that we might get some good service. But we got exactly the opposite. There are other amazing properties near the market please go for them. Pros - 1. Close to market. Cons - 1. Found cockroaches in the room. 2. House keeper never wiped the floor it was dirty for 3 days. 3. When the changes the bed sheets we found hairs of old customer in them. Attached photos. 4. Room service never wiped the table after they collected the utensils. We had to clean them by ourselves. 5. Water blocked in basin. 6. Not at all baby friendly. Table chair wardrobe has very sharp edges. 7. FOOD IS SUPER EXPENSIVE. 8. Management doesn't care about our complaints. They totally ignored us. Note - If you are travelling with a toddler or an infant please avoid this property.

However, the staff could benefit from improved professionalism. The breakfast offerings were disappointing, with cold food and limited options. I had booked an executive room but the room provided was matching the deluxe room. While the hotel was good the room description did not match the actual room. In addition the intercom was not working throughout the stay and while hotel informed us while checking in and provided us the mobile numbers it was still a hassle ordering food and all. Even the high tea option was mentioned on MMT but was not provided. Another call out is that these guys are charging water bottles at MRP 75 which includes service tax. The best thing about the hotel is the location. While the hotel ks good i feel it is bit overpriced compared to amenities provided
