About Nanded (NDC)
Nanded is located in the south-eastern part of Maharashtra in the Marathwada region. It is said that 'Nandi', the vahana of Lord Shiva, performed penance on the banks of the Godavari River in this region. Hence, it was named Nanded. Later, the place became more prominent with the establishment of a Gurudwara, named the Sachkhand Gurudwara, at the place where Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, the last Sikh Guru, passed away in 1708.
