Silver Palm Retreat | Rooms & Caretaker

Its a beautiful place right in between the city of Chikkamagalur and the mountainous locations of the city. It was very quiet, perfect for a friends getaway. The care takers were super helpful. You can smoke and drink without restrictions and even have bonfires at night!

Location is Good, Foods is available but not tasted, Facilities are Good and care taker is very friendly and in good manner. The chief thing is price is too high according to room condition.

I have been here in 2019 with my friends and again in 2025 with family. Excellent stay, house within coffee farm, bonfire available, spacious rooms, swing and hot water. Family feels relaxed after a long day of travel.

**Extremely Disappointing Stay at Silver Palm Retreat** My recent stay at Silver Palm Retreat was deeply disappointing and nowhere There was **no in-house cook**, meaning no food was available on the property. Even basic amenities were missing—**no complimentary water bottles**, and for three people, only **one towel and one soap** were provided initially (additional items were given only after repeated requests). The **liquid handwash bottle was empty**, and when I asked for a refill, I was given a watered-down version. There was **no toilet doormat** until I specifically asked for it. To make matters worse, I found **a frog inside the room**, which had to be removed. The soundproofing was non-existent; I could hear the caretaker ladies talking and their dogs barking clearly. Lighting in the room was extremely dim, the **TV did not work**, hot water was available only for a limited time, and there was **no bonfire** as advertised. The so-called “forest view” was practically non-existent. Overall, the stay felt completely **optimized for the owner’s profit rather than guest comfort**. In my opinion, this arrangement is worth no more than ₹1,500, and what I received was a **total rip-off**. I expect a **refund or substantial compensation** for this experience, and I will be sharing this review publicly on social media.

no food we thought it will be good for children activities not even one item for children's very poor quality rooms no tv no tables and chairs not at all recemmond. no worth for money at all very disappointed.

1. Geyser was not working for initial 2 hrs when we checked in and they kept moving us to other rooms where the door of the assigned room did not even lock. Even they again shifted us to same room. 2. No service available to carry luggage. 3. Basic facilities such as functional tv and telephone available in the amenities listhowever was not provided. 4. The property is under renovation and has either heaps of cement and mud everywhere. 5. The owner is very rude and says you have to adjust to all the small things. 6. They even asked us to fill drinking water from water filter kept in common area. Not a single glass or jug of water was provided.

Stay was average, rooms are below expectations and location is ok. Not enough food options. What i like most is the behaviour of caretaker, they are good, nice people. What i don’t like is rooms are not good as compared to location and cost.

1- they gave room attached to it’s kitchen. Full kitchen food smell was coming inside the room. They didn’t change even on multiple request. 2- workers were playing loud music on their phone which made impossible to sleep in the night. 3- they have barking dogs and they just climb on children like anything. Even on complaints they don’t tie them. 4- they are charging more than per night Due to such experience we had to leave the hotel after one night stay and wasted full money for the next day booking. Worst ever experience in any hotel stay.

My experience is awfully bad. made us to suffer without giving us proper information. Quality and service of the home stay description. I am very very unhappy.

1. The room is booked is for 4 members. Make my trip information is correct. The owner of the stay didn't allow us (4 members ) to stay without additional charges. 2. Owner took 1000 rs/day extra for children. This is very expensive for the amenities available there. 3. They charged rs4500+ per room and didn't provide basic facilities like water bottles, only one towel is provided. No hot water 24*7, and the kettle is not available for drinking warm water.

I had a good experience there. Home stay was clean and nice look. Owner is caring also. They arranged the cab for site view and return can for railway station.

From my past experiences this has been a wonderful stay for the best welcoming service till the time i checked out. Only one recommendation is that you come prepared to order food at the right time or carry food from outside if you are travel-ling from a long distance. Apart from that i would totally recommend everyone to try out the place. It's also very cost efficient for the stay being provided.

It was a great experience staying at the resort and the hospitality provided by the host was excellent.

The resort and room was good. Clean and hygiene. But the dinner was not nice at all. Rs. 450 per head nonveg meal. Was not at all tasty. It would be nice if they improve the quality of the food

We had a blast staying here! the rooms were cozy and clean, and the garden was amazing. We loved seeing all the flowers and plants. The owners were super nice and helpful. They made us feel right at home. Best place ever!

They don't even offer a glass of water no water at times(forget hot water) no basic amenities cheap blankets (that too burn holes at places) unhygienic bedsheets and pillow covers entry and exist is like a jail(door is always locked and you need to call them for opening every time)

It was a very basic homestay with minimal facilities. But the price paid for it was too much. Not worth it. Better to take a cheaper homestay Or stay in a good resort in that price.

very nicely maintained property, neat and clean rooms with spic and span washrooms, tasty and hygienic food prepared by the owner’s wife who stays in the property and maintains it. 3 pomerians on the property are very cute and nice companion to be with. Location- excellent; food - excellent; amenities - up to the mark; services - prompt and customised. We 2 families stayed there for 2 nights and found it highly recommended for other travellers. Kudos to Paramesh ji who is always responsive on phone and highly knowledgable, well-connected and ever-helpful. We would love to stay there again…

The place was good not far from town but between nature. It was well maintained and had cute pets. Room was clean and good. Dinner was tasty and we had complimentary bonfire with dinner. It was serene place with good vibes. Staff and owner were also good. We went as a couple and stayed without any disturbance.
