Mellow Fellow is really a good hostel to stay at Gangtok. Staffs are helpful and polite. Ambience is excellent and the location is also in a good position. In house restaurant offers some delicious foods also ! Daily housekeeping is also good.

Terrible Stay

The stay was not good at all. The rooms were extremely dirty- washrooms reeking a foul smell and the linen was horrible. Although the staff was well spoken and polite but did not heed to the repeated complaints. We could not take bath since no hot water was there. Did not try food since roaches were there in our room (though the climate was cold still) overall, wasn’t a good experience. Or probably i’m getting too old for hostels. If you guys can overlook these things - then the location was good and vibrant, people were good (why you stay in a hostel obv, it was pretty affordable.

Great location, overlooking the mg marg with positive vibes. The private room was decently spacious with a nice window. However, the room can be improved a lot wrt to the amenities. Many of the lights and bulbs were not working, the washroom left a lot to be desired with a non functional geyser

soloPositive point - location it's right on the mg marg just opposite union bank gangtok branch negative - everything else 1- rude behaviour from every staff workimg there right from the beginning when someone call just to they don' t even have the courtesy to explain the location properly 2- my room was not ready even when i checked in 3. 5 hours after the official check in time. God knows what they were doing i had to wait for half and hour to get in to my room. 3-they don' t even come to your room to address the issue even if you call them 4- no cleaning no changing of sheets nothing it was a he'll is h experience 5- even if you talk to them they will ignore you and watch their mobiles instead. Such a pathetic behaviour 6- dirt all around. Plus most of the bulbs don" t work and top it all they don' t have a generator / inverter. Just imagine if lights go off at night at the end i have just 1 thing to say just avoid this hell there are better and cheaper options nearby.

They are very welcoming and the rooms are also clean and spacious. Perfect for travellers and even better if your travel-ling solo. The main attraction is their cozily decorated common room. The location of the hostel is perfect too! right on the mg murgh mall road. Just perfect in all aspect !

Mellow fellow is possibly the best find ever in terms of location and amenities. The dorm has an attached bath which is pretty helpful. But the best part about the property is the staff, especially son-am who would go out of his way to help you. I would definitely recommend mellow fellow of you are travel-ling solo.
