Hotel Diplomat Colaba

We stayed at this property for 2 nights as we wanted to explore Colaba & Gateway area. Hotel is right above Colaba Social and overlooks Taj Hotel. We were upgraded on arrival to corner Suite room which has windows with view of the Sea. Staff are always greeting you with a smile and are very helpful in organizing sightseeing etc. Breakfast is homely and with good variety, although I would have preferred the breakfast room to have a window with a view but they are using a conference room as breakfast space.

The hotel is at the proximity of Gateway of India around 200mtrs. The property is clean and the staff make you feel comfortable. The dining area is clean and you can expect a decent food quality. The rooms are spacious considering other properties I. mumbai. Only thing that is a bar near the hotel which might disturb the sleep incase loud music is being played.

The location is excellent – very close to the seaside, and there’s a Starbucks conveniently located right across the property. The staff genuinely tries to help and are courteous, which adds a lot of value. However, the rooms are quite small and not very comfortable. A major downside is the constant disturbing noise from what seems like some mechanical system behind the hotel. I managed with earmuffs, but it could be a deal-breaker for light sleepers. The property has two buildings – one of them appears to have slightly better furnishing than the other, so your experience may vary depending on where you’re allotted a room. Breakfast is sparse and basic, though once again, the staff makes an effort to make up for it. Verdict: If you’re on a budget and want a central location, this hotel is workable. But if you’re looking for a true 4-star comfort, you might be better off choosing another property nearby.

the desk manager refused to listen,he was not at all courteous.then he got it changed.

Had a short visit to Mumbai for my son's exam @ Maxmuller institute near Chatrapati Shivaji Museum, Colaba. Thus booked Hotel Diplomat as it was nearby the Institute & also nearby Gateway of India. We found the hotel quite reasonable with such a good ambience and good service. Also the staff there was polite and helpful. The food ordered was also so relishing. Had a great time.

Location is too good we were allotted taj facing room very good gesture of the hotel management nice place to stay to explore SOBO

Diplomate experience was good however they need to improve as well specially with washroom hygiene , daily services

Rooms were small and smelly. Washroom were not sanitized as there were small insects and exhaust was also not working. Only plus point was the location which is very near to Gateway of India
