THE CEDAR CASTLE

We traveled as a family and had an amazing stay at the cedar castle. The property is situated in the middle of the mountains and gave us a much needed break from a city life. The kids had a great time playing around. The dinner time was the best when they organized live guitarist performance. Every night was a different artist and each better than the before. In fact one night they also had a 13 year old on the clap box. Amazing.. the food was delicious. Rooms have a rustic look. Bathrooms are large in size. Overall, an unforgettable experience. Must stay if u r in Satkhol, Mukteshwar.

Place is good food is ok

When hospitality meets home—that's how I would describe my four-day stay at Cedar Castle. The room was true to its picture: spacious, with a beautiful valley view. But is that all you need? You need personalization—and that’s exactly what Cedar Castle offers. We arrived at the property around 5:30 p.m. The manager, Bharat, welcomed us warmly. Understanding we were too tired, he brought the register to our room and completed the check-in process there, offering us chai and bread toast for my four-year-old daughter. Afterward, he suggested a short walk to Sunset Point since it was too late to drive around in the hills. At dinner, we were greeted by the owners, Mr. Harish and Mrs. Nilu Chawla, who chatted with us and asked about our drive. I forgot to mention—they even called us during our journey to help guide us to the property. There were many young children at the property, and Mrs. Chawla personally interacted with each one, making sure they had something they liked to eat—even a simple dal and rice if needed. When the kids played in the outdoor area, a staff member always kept an eye on them. This wasn’t a one-time thing—I saw the same care during breakfast and dinner each day. Mrs. Nilu knows the area so well; she helped us plan our outings, recommending where to go, what to see, where to eat, and what local dishes to try. On our last day, we were treated to an amazing Kumaoni meal. Ask me if I’ll visit again—and trust me, my four-year-old daughter has already promised that she would!

Not a value for money stay. Average or below average, quality food. Rooms were clean but not well thought of in terms of placement of sitting area etc. Had to ask them to provide a tv which was removed from our room, not expected from a room which is worth 14k. Also, not much to do at the resort itself. No swimming pool. Poor network area and the wifi they provided wasn’t even working.

Overall a good place to stay. We stayed for 3 nights. Service is very good and so is the staff. Room cleanliness is also very good. Only problem i faced was with the overall design of the bakhli rooms which use wooden doors which cause lot of noise and were not oiled. Also, there is almost no separation between the rooms so neighboring rooms caused noise. Although this may be specific to me but overall there should be some changes made to reduce overall noise from rooms in an otherwise serene environment.

This place is like a hidden gem and we would like to give 5 stars. Talking about the cleanliness, amenities and staff there is absolutely not a single complaint for anything. We were served so well by their staff and we never got to hear no as an answer from them. A special mention to bhupendra, devender and the lovely owner ankit who go beyond their way to comfort you and make sure you feel at home. They even organised bonfire night and even a night jungle safari. And om g the staff behaviour! they were very obedient and took care of everything we needed just like a reputed 5 star property would do. Also, the food was great and very homely, in fact they also surprised us with some local dishes that were more than amazing. We really appreciate the effort they put in to make our trip memorable and we will without a doubt visit again. Coming to the rooms, i would say they have all the amenities you would expect in a deluxe 5 star property and on top of that amazing views of the snow capped mountains and the sunrises are breathtaking! you would not want to miss that. Overall, the place has so much to offer. You also get all winter amenities like electric blankets, in-room fireplace, geyser, hair dryer etc. For a chilly place like mukteshwar. We therefore, highly recommend this place and wish to reach out to as many as possible to try out this place. Cheers!

We went to cedar castle with our 1 yr old kid. The property is kid friendly and their are lot of activities for kids too. Location of property is prime with excellent views and away from cities hush but city is easily approachable. Food is very good with lot of options for kids as well as us. Host is very warm and tries to take care of all the guest needs. Property was fully occupied but still we didn't faced any trouble. A great thank you to ankit(host) for sending us few items which we forgot after the stay.
