Sustainability and Hospitality at its best!
If you’re travelling to Nubra Valley and are unsure where to stay, we wholeheartedly recommend The Kyagar! From the sustainable first construction to the hospitality, this place was everything it was advertised and more. The rooms are spacious and their design is absolutely beautiful. From the stargazing roof to the seating area outside (which by the way offers you the most amazing views while you have your morning / afternoon coffee) the design feels rooted in it’s sense of sustainable architecture! And the food! By far the best food we had during our entire trip to Ladakh, the ingredients are fresh and the flavours are on point! Give their recommendations a try and we promise you, it will not disappoint! Do give this place a try. 10/10 would recommend and definitely will be back again when we visit next!

Terrible Stay
Without staying and informing atleast 24 hours earlier, they gulp down your whole amount, they don’t have any humanity left, Robbers who can’t relate to any medical emergency.

Terrible Stay
The hotel was very average with unruly staff. He was uncooerative and was drunk....20 rooms managed by 5 unorganised people.....including food, housekeeping, etc.....We had breakfast and it was terrible. No respect for customers.....absolutely to avoid

amazing experience
It was a lovely experience, only bad thing was that I wish I stayed for a few more days! They offer the most amazing experiences, did the sandune sundowner and it’s an absolute must-try. Overall great property, the staff and chef were both very warm and welcoming

Hi Shikha Thank you for the wonderful review! It was a pleasure having you here with us- we hope to see you again soon
loved the stay..
Turned out to be beyond what I expected. Property is beautiful so are rooms as very thoughtfully designed. Lot to offer within premise like star gazing, riverside, bonfire, village walk, library and more. Just get the cinema setup working as well. Rooms are spacious and sufficient for family with 2 kids as well. Also food quality and preparation is amazing.

Dear Abhishek Thank you for the lovely feedback! We are glad you enjoyed that space that each of our suites offer, as well as the food program we work very hard to design for our guest experience.
Disappointing
Diasappointed with our stay . First of all the location is shown as nubra valley but one must keep in mind if you are travelling from Leh , after a T junction , nubra valley and the monastery and other tourist destinations are in opposite direction of hotel (about 1 hour drive from the hotel one way) . Please check the maps once . The property is beautiful and big but the service was horrible. There is no phone service even for a local number . And on asking for WiFi password , they said they do not have WiFi services (mentioned otherwise on MakeMyTrip). Also we booked an expensive property like this to enjoy the spa which is again mentioned on the website but they had no therapist available when we visited there . On asking for room service for morning tea , the staff argued that tea will get cold by the time it comes to room so we should go to the restaurant instead . The food was average . The only saving grace was the manager who was very polite and courteous . The rest of the staff was not interested and very uncooperative.

Hi Kritika Thank you for the detailed feedback of your stay with us. I’m sorry the stay didn’t meet with your expectations. We hope you do visit again and allow us to change your experience for the better. Location- we are in fact in Nubra valley- Nubra is not just limited to the village of Hunder, and almost all guests who book with us do their research and know that we are on the quieter side of the valley with beautiful experiences as well. We have the Siachen glacier just a two hour drive away, as well as the Sumur sand dunes a five minute drive away for those seeking a more touristy experience. WiFi- we had some issues with our wifi connections last year since the airtel leased line didn’t work as well as expected. We have the jio fibre now and are pleased to assure you that wifi works very well now. Regarding phone connectivity, all airtel and jio postpaid numbers work well in the entire region of Ladakh. I don’t think you’d have a sim working in leh and not working here in Nubra. Perhaps you opted for a prepaid sim? The food program at Kyagar as per our experience is one of the best in Ladakh- I’m really sorry you didn’t enjoy what we put together for you. Thank you

A true gem
Wonderful location and very nice rooms. The food is very delicious. The hotel is located in a fantastic, large property with a view of the himalayas. It is absolutely quiet. What bothered me are some discrepancies: the hotel positions itself as a ‘sustainable hotel’. However, the eggs are sourced from srinagar, not from local farmers. Also the butter is from amal, not from local farmers/organic. There are big problems with the regulation of the water temperature in the shower, this needs to be fixed. The competency level of the staff varies

Good Stay
The kyagar, nubra valley, is located in a beautiful valley, surrounded by pretty mountains. The hotel is also very aesthetically and thoughtfully planned and made. The rooms are huge. The best part was the star gazing window in the ceiling, which can be controlled with a remote. But the maintenance is a major issue. The room was dirty, the sweeper just collected the dirt on the side of the room after sweeping. Big rolls of hair in the bathing area. Spiders and spider webs everywhere, not just far off ceiling corners, but next to the taps. And huge silverfish type insects, one was also on my bed. Tissue box was empty. And dust on the wooden furniture. The tea counter in the room was pretty, with a ceramic kettle, steel thermos to keep hot water, jar of floral teas, along with the regular stuff. The only problem i faced here was the regular tea bags were not sachets, but tea bags kept in the open in a bowl, which was accumulating dust. It can be a closed jar like the floral tea bags. Moreover on requesting for more closed tea bags(assam tea, it was delivered, but after a good 6 hours. The restaurant, has a pretty view and a bonfire area. It was lovely to sit there in the night. The hotel staff promptly got us a speaker also ********ing music. The food, indian dishes were nice and homely. Whereas the thai and italian dishes we had ordered were left after tasting. Even the desserts were nothing to talk about. The highly recommended cake slice looked and tasted like a dry stale toast. One last point. The hotel switched off the power in the night. Woke up in the night because the room became too hot. We had to leave early in the morning, and the geyser would not work due to no power. My friend had to blast them off to get to switch on the power back. That too took atleats half an hour. Overall, a decent experience, but could have been excellent.

Luxurious stay with wonderful views & experience
The kyagar is a beautiful property located in kyagar village. It is untouched village by tourists so it is surrounded by fresh air & calmness. The standards of the hotel in terms of the room, service & food are 5 star. Food was excellent with a great spread. There was campfire in the evening (on request) other activities like cycling, picnic, etc are available on payment. The library is just so good. Don’t miss the village walk which they take you at 6pm everyday. One of a kind experience. We totally enjoyed the view of snow capped mountains from our room. So serene. I would go back to the kyagar any day

Awesome stay
We were a bit skeptic given the location and price of the hotel. However, the experience was worth every penny. The rooms have enough privacy and breathtaking view. We were lucky to be there on a full moon night and thus the view from the room was like some thing from africa where you see plain land in front of you and mountains at the distance bathed in moonlight. The room had a skylight (electrically retractable) that will give you a view of the stars while you are lying down in your bed. The bed is electrically heated and thus it is a boon on colder nights. The owners also arrange a village walk and a tour to a 400 year old house to see and taste local culture, which is an added attraction. The food spread (we took a breakfast and dinner plan: and i would recommend that as there are no restaurants nearby) is one of the widest i found in ladakh and may be compared to the spread at any good hotel in a metro city. The staff were cordial and take extra care for guests. Let me end by saying that this hotel is not for bargain seekers so if you are looking for the low priced hotel, this is not for you. However, if you are looking for a unique and exotic experience, this is worth every single rupee.

Joyful, spiritual and mesmerizing experience
The moment you start driving down the khardungla pass the way nature unfolds itself, one gets spellbound. First look at the nubra valley and one starts to think, is it real ? when you reach kyagar one thinks how could they make this luxury possible in this far flung corner of the country. The staff, the way they have designed the property and the rooms ( specially the washroom), the management team needs to be congratulated. The staff goes out of the way to make it a unforgettable experience. Meals though with limited options, which is understandable owing to the difficulty in arranging things in that small village of sumur are delectable and worth experiencing. The local ladaki cuisine was a very pleasant surprise. I ended up eating more of it than the regular food we have. The river sachin flowing just a few minutes walk away from the hotel is a highlight of the property. The calmness, serenity and the way property blends with the overall canvas of nature, is an experience worth taking. Lastly, the sky window in every room for star gazing while one lies in the bed is a very thoughtful touch. Kyagar compliments the beauty of nubra perfectly.
