I was on a short visit to chandigarh/mohali where my son is studying in iiser. Since i could not secure a visitor guest house accommodation, i had to book some overnight accommodation for just a night on 6th-7th dec. I primarily chose an afforda le property in the near vicinity of iiser. Upon reaching the property in the late night almost at 11 pm, we were asked to physically handover an original identity document at their safe custody until we checkout. Since i was uncomfortable and denied to handover, but only suggested to share an electronic version, they denied accommodation. In the process they also insisted the property rules not to accommodate unmarried adults who are not female, and i discovered it was actually a female room. I am surprised how mm t went through to identify, pick and show such a property knowing very well i, the primary guest is not a female. Unfortunately given the inappropriateness i decided to step out and find another property, extending into beyond midnight and in a cold night under the clear blue sky. Though i don't regret, but i am deeply dissatisfied with the service offered by mm t in this regard. It is also unfortunate that it doesn't allow cancellation, and also stated an non-refundable booking. This kind of inflexible policy and insistence of conditions without an opportunity to find out the reasons and mitigating circumstances leading to cancellation before enforcing such a penalty is unprofessional and defies business logic and ethics.
