The Orchid Gardens Homestay | Rooms & Caretaker

I had a very pleasant stay with my family. I am easily able to find the property location. Food, amenities and services are very good. I recommend this property.

We are disappointed. Terrible experience. We booked two rooms ...one room door lock was broken. We were locked inside. We have to ask caretaker to open the door every time...so we had slept with the room door open for ( two night, three day) stay. He didn't take any step to repair the door. It was very bad experience..can't even change clothes. Hot water was not available...the geyser main was switched off by the caretaker . Caretaker supplied the food with irritation. He didn't even inform about rate of food items( dosa and idle, and poori) and we're charged for 3 meals. Worst experience ever.

Place looks good from outside. Location is very interior. Need to travel 2 kms to the main road. Approach roads are very narrrow. Better to book if you are NOT in own car. No amenities. Frequent power cuts. Geyser does not work. Bathroom flush broken. Basic door mats for bathroom not available. Towels will not changed every day. You need to adjust with wet towels in cold weather. This property has 4 rooms for rent. Out of this 1 is 10x10 cramped room. It is room no 102. Please check if you are not given that small room. Take commitment in writing before you go. We had bad experience with the small room, cramped, dingy but same price. We had to literally negotiate with care taker, owner and MAKEMYTRIP for 4 hours during check in to arrange for alternate room that too only from next day. Food was good. But expensive, no price menu etc, left to the care taker to decide and you will get the written chit of food and price during checkout. Very unorganised honestly. No security guard, caretaker is a cook, so no other support. Not recommended for family or couple.

The first thing that truly stood out to us was the wonderful hospitality. Mr. Rajan, the caretaker, was incredibly warm, kind, and attentive throughout our stay. He prepared delicious home-cooked meals, even accommodating our request for a less spicy version for the kids, which we really appreciated. Another helper was also around and equally friendly and helpful. The homestay itself was spotlessly clean and tastefully minimal, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. We especially loved the balcony adorned with beautiful, well-maintained flowers — such a lovely touch! As a family, we thoroughly enjoyed both the stay and the food. A big heartfelt thank you to the entire team for making our experience so memorable!

We had stayed at orchid gardens homestay for two days and i can say we really enjoyed our time here. The hospitality was very good. Our room was spacious and had great views. The common areas were also so good. The food was very delicious. Overall it was great experience.

We 9 members travelled to Kodaikanal, had a pleasant stay in Orchid Gardens. Property is clean and well maintained. Caretaker Mr. Rajan cooks well. The food he served is fresh and homemade. Good choice we made

The stay was very excellent and neat and clean. The caretaker is also very friendly. It's a single villa with a garden and children's outdoor play activities. Very suited for family stay

The rooms at the home stay wer clean n neat ,even though we reachd late the cook prepared warm n tasty food n served as well ,the garden around the homestay was well maintained n we had a good off Tim in n around the villa

The property was good but the care taker was too rude, non responsive and didn’t greet us. We reached kodai early and had a word with him earlier for early checkin, usually it is 11 but we asked for 10:30 atleast to which he agreed as well but reached the property half an hour late. There is no reception or waiting area where you can sit till the care taker comes, the property remains locked and you have to wait on road with your luggage.

a comfortable stay , clean with a excellent caretake. Rajan provides excellent food . It was a wonderful experience.

Good ambiance to relax from the city noises. Near to lake. Thumps up for the caretaker rajan. He was there to assist as on all the needs and prepared good food for us. Near rooms and are in good conditions

Our stay was really pleasant at orchid gardens home stay. Cleanliness, overall ambience, garden, decorated balcony, lawn with children's play area were excellent. Homely food served by rajan, chef was really palatable and he does his work patiently with care. Driver was well accommodated with necessary provision. Property located very close to the city. Very neatly maintained. Good place to enjoy as a family with children’s as they have play area for kids and lawns. Food was average. Caretaker was not ready to cook our dinner even though we informed him by afternoon, he keeps denying things we ask for. Even for the camp fire he was saying reasons it cannot be done only after insisting repeatedly he made the arrangements. Except the caretakers behaviour everything was good. I suggest the property owners to replace the caretaker which will attract people to come back repeatedly.

The property was well maintained and the caretaker cooked homely food. It’s located near the lake and bryant park, the road in front of the property is a bit narrow for large vehicles but manageable. Good for a large group of people but all necessities don’t expect the items like hotel.

Hassle free stay, the caretaker was polite and friendly. The room and restroom were clean and neat. Felt like home away from home.
