Location of property is good. The host and home made food is excellent

This review is from a family of four adults and two toddlers who enjoyed a two-night stay (Sept 30th - Oct 1st, 2025) in two MMT-booked cottages. The owner, Darshan, was extremely attentive and helpful, messaging the family on the day of arrival and even arranging an unbooked vegetarian dinner despite their late notice. The location was accurate and easy to find. The rooms were clean and included essential amenities such as a kettle, geyser, and TV. Thanks to the in-house staff, the dinner was excellent. Overall, the family highly recommends the accommodation, praising Darshan for the comfortable stay and for going the extra mile, specifically in providing pure cow milk for the toddlers on short notice.

This was our second visit to this hotel, and once again, it was an amazing experience! 🌿 The place is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nature, which makes the stay so peaceful and refreshing. The owner’s behavior is extremely warm and welcoming, making us feel at home every time. We truly enjoyed a lot during our stay, just like our first visit. If you’re looking for a perfect getaway close to nature, this is definitely the place to be. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Being a resident of bangalore, coorg is one of the destinations i find myself visiting most frequently. Over the years, i have had the opportunity to stay at many resorts, homestays and hotels. However, since my first stay at chilipili estate back in jun e 2024, i have not stayed anywhere else in coorg but here and most probably will continue to do so. This estate stay is just breathtakingly beautiful. Set amid-st a coffee plantation and canopied by large trees, not to mention the countless flowers that adorn this place. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and neat and clean, and with a great view too. As explained by our host ms. Darshan, and her daughter kavin - 'chilipili' - in kannda, means the chirping for birds. And boy does this place live upto its name! we were lucky enough to spot many species of birds like the greater racquet tailed drongo, leaf birds, woodpeckers, parakeets, barbets and of course - hornbills! ms. Darshan is a wildlife photographer herself and her captured photographs adorn the rooms of the stay. The food is plentiful in quantity and absolutely delicious. All in all, i think this is the best homestay i have stayed in, period. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone who wants to take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life and connect deeply with nature.

Visited this homestay in December. The location is really a joy to drive towards. The homestay is built in the middle of a coffee estate and only a minute of off road drive from the main road. The rooms, common dining/parking areas are very neatly maintained & the parking area is also sufficient. They have rooms by the names of birds like hornbill, kingfisher, etc. If one wakes up during sunrise, the ears will be treated to the "chilipili" (chirping) of birds & the eyes to fog covered sights of towering trees all around. The natural colours are added mostly by the variety of flowering plants grown in the parking area other than the different shades of the coffee fruits. The hostess Mrs. Darshan Ganapathy is really polite & helpful in providing info about nearby places. She is a wildlife photographer and a few of her snaps of wild animals are up for display outside the rooms - the one with black panther was breathtaking. The food was homemade, tasty and the quantity provided for one time meal is enough for the whole day. The working staff are really punctual & make sure the food arrives on time. They have option of paid bonfire as well. There are 3 friendly dogs guarding the homestay. The walk in the coffee plantation was relaxing. Would definitely revisit during the monsoon to witness it in all its glory. Overall it was the being-one-with-nature experience that our polluted minds crave for every once in a while.

It is a good place to stay amid-st nature. It is 20 km. Away from madikeri city, and gives the feeling of dense forest.

Our stay at chilipili estate was definitely one of the best, if not the best ever experience in terms of stay, food, ambience and hospitality. The property itself absolutely lives upto it's name "chilipili" which means "chirping of birds" in kannada. Our hosts, darshan and her daughter kavin warmly welcomed us and walked us through the really offbeat experiences that coorg has to offer. The rooms were neat and well maintained. The food was simply delicious. Sumptuous kodava cuisine. For anyone seeking a calm, serene but warm getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life, chilipili is the place to go!

The location is good however it's relatively expensive since facilities are not that great also apart from dinner food is exorbitantly expensive onion pakora will be 90 per plate, there are very few alternatives near the homestay so food should be included in the package. Lastly towels were not washed properly and we had to explicitly ask for a hand wash. Owner is very nice but the service is not so good

I travel-led solo. The cottages are in between the coffee farms. Ideal for bachelors or family. I had a very peaceful stay. Owner is very friendly.

The stay was awesome. A simple and peaceful place. Surrounded by coffee estate, the place is spectacular. A special shout out to the host, darshan. Excellent lip smacking food and utter professionalism. Phone networks are weak, but was required for a digital detox. Would recommend it surely.

I was looking for a pet-friendly place and this one ticks all the boxes. The food was delicious and the quantity offered was too much😀 though there is a well-laid road but Google has shown me the shortest route which was pathetic and terrible to drive. It's away from city live and one has to go 7-8Kms to get anything but you to have everything there to sit and enjoy nature. this is the best place for those looking for a staycation

I have spend 2 nights there with my family the place is so good that we planed ro stay at the place itself rather than going out on the 2nd day evening. I felt so connected to nature n peace. If u want a chilling experience with peace then chilipili is the place for u the food was also very good n fresh i m in love with the place and i am going to visit soon

The estate is located in the midst of a coffee estate, making it a very peaceful environment. You get to see a variety of trees and plants. However there is no mobile signal at the place making it a little difficult but if you want to disconnect then yes it’s good choice.

Calm and serene place. Away from the city, you need to settle here if planning to visit this place as the road is a little interior and not great to drive.
