Arudhra Residency

One probably can't stay closer to any major temple than this. The lodge is right next to the doorstep of the East Tower. Great way to visit the temple for multiple darshans - day and night. I took the opportunity to attend the Ardha Jamam (late night/ last) poojai - around 9.40 - 9.45 pm for Govindaraja Perumal and 10.00 - 10.30 pm for Nataraja. I even got to join a swami porapaddu (procession), accompanied by an elephant, out of the East Gate as late as 11 pm! My top lookout of a clean toilet was well met. My only issue was that the cupboard wasn't completely cleaned before my check in. Given that I checked in only at 9 pm, there was plenty of time to do a thorough job! I also had to request for a towel. The lodge offers to have Food & Beverages fetched from the neighborhood. Since there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, this was not a major issue for me - especially since I was travelling alone. Understandably, this close to the temple, there is no car parking available immediately near the lodge. Again, this was not an issue for me since I had taken the (Thiruchendur bound) afternoon train from Chennai. Overall, quite happy I chose to stay at Arudhra Residency this trip.

Being right next to the thillai natraj temple's entry gate, it ticks the box on location for temple visitors. The family room we stayed in was good but the bathroom was not up to the mark- it was smelly and leaky- it needs repair and an upgrade. The staff is helpful as they helped us with the luggage from the main road as the car cannot reach the Arudhra Residency's entry gate which is around 50-100 meters from the main road. Lack of parking space is a negative point too. It lacks common spaces due to its location.

It was a good stay. (not 4star for sure but why you there matters so) very near to mandir. Literally in the corridor of mandir. Would stay again. Super safe for a single female. Night manager is very good. Hope you don’t have to talk to morning manager.

It's what you'd expect of a Residency. Superb location, just a few paces from the East entrance to the magnificent Thillai Nataraja Temple. Room was basic, but had functioning AC. Lots of food options within walking distance. Value for money.

Ambience was good. Maintainence was good.

The Arudhra Residency is just in front of East Gopuram. Rooms are good and clean. Hotels are near by and vegetarian food available.

Very nice place to stay. It is located just to Chidambaram Natarajar temple. Not a 3 Star Arudhra Residency, but it’s clean, spacious and comfortable. Good restaurants are next to this building.

Next to East Nadai of Nataraja Temple. Very nice place and we'll maintained. Everything available and Ananda Bhavan nearby for excellent food. Everything walkable.

Good price, great space.

Rooms were clean and spacious. Location is also great as its next to temple. Staff was courteous and receptionist was responsive. Parking is not available due to proximity to temple.
