Newlands B&B (500 meters from Mall Road)

staff was friendly ,the rooms were neat and clean

The room was untidy. The quilt, blanket mattress was not washed cleaned. But the behaviour of the staff was nice. Similar other small issues like washroom flush was not working. If the hotel is charging such a hefty amount, they should at least provide basic facilities.

It was a terrible experience to stay at hotel newlands at shimla incorprative staff. Hygiene is also poor no facilities for the tourist over there so i am not satisfied with the service given by newlands hotel.

Overall neat and clean and fine. Some more facilities in catering can upgrade the experience.

Good customer services, rooms are clean and good

Location is pretty near to mall road near lift appx 1km l. Food quality is good. The thing I have found that cleanings of material which provided are not up to date.

Co-operative staff, clean & hygienic room, nice view.

Bed, bed covers were dirty, bathroom was not at all good. Amenities nothing, even drinking water bottle was not available.

I recommend this hotel because the hotel is in budget

Hotel is good and clean near to mall road lift. It will take 10 minutes to reach mall road from hotel u can take bus from hotel at every 10 minutes to reach mall road. But fooding service is very slow so u take it from outside. Room has good space one family will two small kids can stay here comfortable y

1. Mountain view room was not given despite being booked & paid 2. Breakfast. Already booked but initially only paratha with curd was offered 3. Rooms are not provided with coffee tea maker 4. Water. Mineral water was chargeable 5. Staff behavior is unacceptable as they will deny every request 6. Service. Poor service. You have to wait for water, spoons, bowls for long time during dinner at restaurant & staff is difficult to locate 7. Even mm t customer care is not able to provide executable help

The hotel took the booking but didn't had rooms. I checked in with my wife at 9pm and the reception staff says that they do not have rooms, by mistake they allotted the rooms to other guests. At 9pm in shimla having snowfall outside and we don't have a place to stay! only good thing the staff was they arranged a room in another hotel. Hotel apsara. Luckily we got the room, but oh god the room and hotel was terrible. Security was the biggest concern staying there. Th pathetic entrance, terrible stairs, compact room, dirty washroom. The only thing reason we stayed there is because we didnt had any option as the weather was bad outside at it was too late at night. 10 pm is like 1 am in shimla with snowfall outside. That was a terrible night for us!

Pros: property is easy to find. Room and bathroom were clean. Has car parking. However car parking is con-jested and not feasible to take out your car frequently. I would suggest to use local bus to reach lift. Buses are frequent about every 10 mins and right from outside this property. Cons: no view from window, bed matress was hard. Bathroom door not closing completely therefore can't lock it.
