The Shire

The rooms were OK, little bit smaller in size. The approach road is very bad specially for people travelling by own car. The host was awesome and helpful. But room amenities need to be made more professional.

The property was unexpectedly beautiful as i had not expected it to be so green and full of different kinds of plants. Just the right distance from mg road to not make the travel feel too difficult as well the rooms were clean and food was pretty wholesome and even had some unique local products to taste. Owner was most helpful in identifying people to travel with and also give us a broad overview of all the places that we could visit and how the logistics of the travel usually work out. Would definitely revisit this stay whenever i go back to gangtok.

It was a very nice stay. We were a girls-only group but felt completely safe and comfortable there. The hosts were very welcoming and sweet and the services were also very good. The rooms and the property were also nice and clean with a great view of the mountains.

The house is really beautiful and karma ji is very helpful and jolly. Had great conversation with auntie ji(karma ji's mother. Felt like home. Breakfast was wonderful and i was able to view part of kanchenjaungha from the home. A must visit place. Loved the place. Very near to mg marg as well 10 out of 10

The Shire is class above the rest. A true gem of a hospitality home, maintained awesomely by Mr. Karma Tempa and his entire family. It's like home away from home. Must visit place to feel the serenity in the laps of Himalayas, along with fantastic homemade authentic foods.

Yummy food with breathtaking views, lovely ambiance and above all great hospitality.

It was a friends trip, overall stay was average, but The room was not comfortable it was very small plus there were restrictions from owners Side that you have come before 11 pm.

We chose home stay for The first time and we're more than happy. The place is small, quite and nice. The host family is wonderful. We highly recommend them.

Hotel is surrounded by natural beauty. Their had been lot of plants and trees which eye catching. Hotel owners so nice to guests. It's clean with daily room service. We had breakfast that was tasty. In Side the house it is treat for photography, they have books of Sikkim, valuable paintings, showpiece. I would like to suggest them to keep bicycles for guests to go market.

People of this house are so polite and decent. They all also guide you for sightseeing.

My stay was nice. Food was good. It is hard to find cabs nearby so reaching The property is quite difficult. Staff was assisted ve.

The place exists in lap of nature with a very peaceful ambience. The host and his family were very helpful and great host. Only think I did not like is my room, The room was tiny (which would have been ok) but The room was damp.

It was a great property. The home owner running The property and they maintained it very well. The cleanliness was up to The mark. Room was very comfortable with The beautiful view of landscape and mountain. It is a recommendable property.

Location was very greenery, spacious.
Everything was up-to the mark. The family members were best and took care of us like we are there own. I would prefer this home-stay to everybody whenever they visit gangtok. It's worth staying over there.
