We enjoyed the stay here for 3 days, the experience was quite pleasurable. The rooms ambience was nice and service was good. The rooftop restaurant has a good menu and taste.

An absolute disaster of a hotel- a complete waste of money

Absolutely appalled at the hotel's service and facilities. It is quite far from mg marg and senior citizens like us cannot walk 3 km in high altitude terrain to reach the city centre. Local taxis are costly too for 3 people and one way it is rs 150. As promised in the booking advert, the hotel does not match up in in aesthetics, food, service, facilities and hospitality. A big zero in all respects. I truly repent booking this hotel for my maiden trip to sikkim with my son and daughter. Request visitors to avoid the false visuals and food reviews. The water served in the hotel had insects in it and the food extra rich and served late every time. All 3 of us had a bout of hill diarrhoea. Avoid this hotel at all costs if you don't want to ruin your gangtok trip.

Rooms clean even-though room nos 101 does not have proper ventilation. Rest room clean and good. Staff very cordial. Lunch was not upto the mark, may be tomatoes used were not good.

Simple hotel, don't expect much

New orchid is a simple hotel providing basic amenities. They don't have a kitchen yet so guests need to go to denzong shangrila, a 4-star property of the same group located next to new orchid. The breakfast and dinner buffet was simple, food taste and quality were average. The area is peaceful but a taxi is required to reach the primary market.

Wifi was a bit erratic other wise very comfortable stay withe family. Staff are very helpful. O ly the location is a bit offbeat, going to any place is expensive as u have to take cab on shared basis or book full. That becomes an expensive affair

The hotel doesn't have a good view at-least the deluxe rooms. But the hospitality is good. Housekeeping staff is good. More variations in buffet will be better.
