Indigo Homestay

I am a professor and traveled to Allepey with family and booked this hotel based on the reviews and photos. But all is false. This is not a resort, but a tiny house area made into hotel, small smelly rooms, no hot water, worst location, too small street to take your car in. Very bad, no value for money, not even worth a rupee. please avoid it at any cost.

The manager was very helpful, the kitchen staff made great food. We loved the rooms. Perfect place for a group of friends, also safe.

Superb stay rooms. Butte location is isolated. The locals were said this Home stay was closed two day before while asking them about the location. That was a rare experience.

Took us some time to find the place but once we reached, we loved it. It's a bit inside the small street of Varkala which gets really isolated and silent during the nights. The walk back from the cliff to the hotel room was scary. But we loved the maintenance and the interior of the room. We ran out of water at 1 O'clock in the night and we called the hotel guy and he got water immediately from somewhere. Great stay and loved the interiors.

The great reviews everywhere seems to be quite misleading. While the proximity to the cliff and the delicious complimentary breakfast from the Inda hotel were a certain plus, the place seems to be not so well maintained. Bathrooms had very low water pressure. Also the constant burning of plastic near the rooms were a real turn off. No staff seemed to be Around to even complaint about these. Overall just an average stay for the price.

Location good, room clink ness good, no restaurant and no tv facility for entertainment.
There was no TV available for entertainment purposes, we have go in search of food as there was no restaurant.

The location is good and a 2 minute walk from the cliff. The rooms are also clean and well maintained, the staff was very friendly and ready to help out in all matters. The complimentary breakfast sure did surprise and was great with a wide and quality selection to choose from. On the whole. 2 awesome days. Thank you for the hospitality.

No power backup, very difficult at night.

Room was tidy, a bit small for 2 adults and 1 child. Not much breathing room in the room. No television had a lot of smoke from cigarettes. The staff manager was good to us. Breakfast was great and worth the money, but dinner options were expensive and continental types only.

Good stay. There is a facility to prepare our own food. In the nearby area there are no good options for vegetarians but, we can use kitchen within the hotel. Easily accessible for all local attractions. Overall good hospitality.

Indigo home-stay was quite a surprise for us! We were looking for budget accommodations in Varkala when we came across this. Given the price we got it for, we did not have a lot of expectation from it and were expecting a basic home-stay. But, we were surprised by how amazing our experience here turned out to be! The rooms were super clean, well kept and maintained. I don't know how many of you also do it, but I first judge a room by how clean the bathroom is and Indigo has an amazingly maintained bathroom. The location is also great (its a 3-4 minute walk from the cliff). We ran out of water pretty late into the night and the watchman on duty was very sweet and got a new can for us right away. It has a small cafe which serves tea/coffee and the likes of it but I wouldn't recommend it as the cliff has lot more options to explore and the food is much better there. Overall, we stayed here for 2 nights and I would highly recommend this place. Cheers :)

It was great staying here. Great value for money. Excellent service by caretaker. Nice ambience. Clean and neat.

It's a budget friendly Homestay . Full value for money . Great for solo travellers and college groups . The caretaker is friendly and ready to help you anytime . He helped me to get a bike for rent . The Varkala helipad and beach is on walking distance from the property . If you are looking for a budget friendly stay . This property should be on your check list

I went there solo for a relaxing journey. The room is simple, but very good, clean and spacious. The WiFi was pretty good. Its at walking distance from the cliff. Breakfast was good. Service was excellent. Overall a very good place at affordable rate.
