Pupa Homestay, Varkala Cliff (sea-view terrace)

I really enjoyed my stay here. The owner was very kind, friendly, and welcoming, which instantly made the stay feel comfortable. The room with the ocean view and balcony was amazing. The place was clean, well maintained, and had everything I needed. Overall, I had a great time and will surely visit again.

I stayed at pupa homestay with my family, the stay was located exactly on varkala cliff, with excellent beach view from terrace, rooms were Air conditioned, clean, well maintained and budget friendly , very friendly and helping care taker , surfing is available with affordable cost

To anyone looking for a stay in north cliff, unless you also want a surfing class or classes, i would recommend you not to go for pupa. There was no hot water, the reference pictures we saw didn't match at all. It was a disappointing experience.

The air conditioner was not functioning, and hot water was unavailable. However, everything else was satisfactory. While these issues caused some inconvenience, the overall experience was otherwise acceptable. The room was clean, the amenities were well-maintained, and the staff was courteous and attentive. The location was convenient, and the surroundings were peaceful, which made the stay comfortable despite the minor setbacks.

Peaceful atmosphere staff guy is truly osm and helpful loved the place.

Stay was decent only issue that we faced was the ac was not working. However a decent budget friendly stay

This property is situated right on the cliff and that makes it super convenient. It's a well maintained homestay and the staffs are cooperative and humble. As i booked this property in the last minute i missed out on the a/c room but the non a/c room was decent and meets the need.

The hot water stopped coming.

Rooms was clean and view was amazing. Its located right in the centre of the cliff. You have all kind of food options within 2 minutes walk from the hotel

The stay was pleasant, though not overly fancy. The best feature is its proximity to the cliff, making it incredibly convenient. It's also budget-friendly. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, clean and with no disturbances, perfect for a peaceful getaway.

Dirty bed cover. Wife developed itch all over after sleeping fir half hour. We then removed the bed sheets and slept. Ac remote not working. One can see through the bathroom windows. Especially when on is in the stair next to it. And the smell. About 2 am the room was filled with sewage smell. The attender explained that it's drainage being expelled every day when there is no one around. It was awful. And the skin iritation. The attitude of owner was not inviting. When asked whether we can get any breakfast or at-least bedcoffee because there was no kitchen, he took of-fence of me using the word "atleast. No hooks on the walls or hangers for your shirts and trousers. Only one plug point and dim lighting.

There is a notice on the room wall that states >no food, no alcohols, no loud music. Then whats the point of booking a room in a tourist places?

Went to varkala to relax a bit after a long trip with family. Had checked a lot of stays in varkala but found pupa homestay to be the best. Firstly it’s very near from the helipad. So didn’t have to worry about carrying luggage since beyond the helipad vehicles are not allowed. We got the room with the balcony. Had a decent sea view. The owner and caretaker were very sweet to guide us on food recommendations and places to visit and also helped us with the luggage to the helipad while checking out. In case you have a lot of luggage and don’t want to worry about locating this property, the is the best bet. Also the beach is very near to the property.

Cozy rooms right next to the cliff pathway. We got the room with the front balcony. It has a clear view of the sea. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Service is ok. Food is easily available at restaurants and cafes just outside the property. During our stay wi-fi was there but without internet. A couple of hooks for hanging clothes behind the doors would be helpful. No plug point for the electric kettle. Taking care of these minor details can make a big difference. But none of these came in the wway of having a vert comfortable and pleasant stay.

It was a pleasant stay with an amazing view. The host and caretaker were also very helpful. This has a location advantage given the close proximity to the beach.

We loved the stay. The property is very close to the beach and the room with balcony got a nice beach facing view. The room was quite clean and ok for the price. The care taker rajesh helped us with the checkin and luggage. There are lot of cafes around this property and would be a wonderful to walk around in the evening or to sit and grab a drink looking the sea. Overall i would recommend pupa homestay if you are planning to stay at varkala north cliff
